at the risk of being labeled a "Nellie", does our free throw shooting concern anybody else? Do you think it will improve over the course of the year, or will we end up shooting them at about the current .667 clip?

I think we've already seen improvement this year from this team in other problem areas, especially rebounding and interior ball movement. But our free throw shooting concerns me and I am afraid that it will cost us games down the road.

I do know for a fact that some of the players have been practicing their free throw shooting extra, after practice, so perhaps we'll see a steady improvement. Being a good ft shooting team makes you quite dangerous, imo.

Well, the guys who missed Wed. night I pretty well expect to get better.

Chris hasn't shot the ball well from the line, but he was one of the best by the end of the year last year so I'm not concerned about him, nor am I concerned about Dyricus.


Also, recall how much Taylor has improved at the line...so really, it could be worse.


I fully expect it to get better come conference season.

Yea, I'm concerned. Free throws win and lose a lot more games than people think. Maybe they should bring back the small rims from the old Fieldhouse?

More freshmen = more misses. It should get better.

It's those front ends that we miss that concern me. Towards the end of the game we have SM who seems to have ice in his veins step up and hit them. We did improve last year throughout the season so I expect more of the same. If the shooting continues in January then I'll be concerned.

Ft's are free points so yes only making 67% of them is a big concern.

Warren, Brown and SM are all at a high % its Roberts, Egolf and Simms who I am concerned with, when it comes to making ft's. They are a combined 26-47 55%. I think all 3 are better shooters then that % but those 3 especially Roberts and Egolf will get to the line a lot and they have to shoot it a lot better.

But it is very important to note we are averaging 18 fts a game, getting to the line is a very good sign of an aggressive team.

75% should be our goal on ft's.
