  • How good is Missouri State?

After watching Tulsa tear apart Oklahoma State tonight, and knowing what Missouri State did to Tulsa Saturday, I'm wondering if the Bears really are that good?

    Time will tell.

Tulsa will not lose much the rest of the season if they play anywhere near the way they played tonight. Missouri State, Bradley, and UNI have the three biggest wins by far for the conference so far.

Considering the opportunities that Creighton squandered for quality wins, the rest of the conference has done pretty darn well with what they have had to work with. And Bradley still has an improved but after tonight, still inconsistent Iowa St. team to come. We'll see what we can do there.

As far as MSU is concerned, until they play a few conference games, assume they will be a tough out. And look for someone else to come out of hiding once the Valley season starts. Probably WSU, SIU or Creighton will be one of the teams that will surprise some people this year (Creighton based on their awful non-conference showing so far).

Haven't you noticed ISU yet??? They are getting votes in The Poll.

Until they win 13 or more conference games, then I'll "notice" them.

That goes to show that voters only look at teams that have gaudy records without looking at who they played, with maybe the exception of a team like Portland which everyone took notice of this past week.

ISU will start 12-0 and then panic when they have to play "real" competition on the road in the Valley!

MSU being good is good for the league...and dangerous! They traveled real, real well to St. Louis back in the days of Moore, Kandlebinder, and dare I say Coleco Bouie (uggh). I think it's hard to discredit their start...if anyone deserves a charmed year it's them. I'm happy for them and look forward to them continuing to make this league look good.
          Onward and Upward!

I'd really love to see them come to Peoria again undefeated. It's always great to shatter someone's dreams

That would be okay with me. That would mean we would be 23-0 overall and 12-0 in the MVC when we rolled into Peoria on Feb. 9th.

Even with a loss in Peoria, leaving 23-1 and 12-1 in the MVC with 4 games ( plus the BB) to play is cool by me.

and you'd still have to win the conference tourney to expect any hope of a bid

I'd have absolutely NO problem with that cpacmel . In fact, I'd love to see both teams undefeated in The Valley at that point. That way, when BU blows ISU out it will look that much better and feel that much sweeter.

How many other teams from top 10 conferences had 24 and 25 wins in the past 2 years, and did not get an at-large bid?

                        Now that is funny!!!
                        Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

We play AT ISU before they come to Carver this year. I'd rather Bradley be undefeated in the MVC when they come to Carver.

Tulsa won 24 games last season and no at-large.

But I get your point regardless.
