Can't go wrong with tough "D" MCD! It can make the difference between winning and losing when a team has an off night. We were definately not on our game tonight but the tough defense picked up the offense and helped us to a strong second half and victory.
JL said in the press conference that CR had 11 deflections to go along with his five second-half steals. It's those types of nights that not only help avoid a letdown loss and counteract bad first-half shooting, but limit a team's big man (In this case Kowal) to five shots from the field!
I really liked how Chuck Buescher personally challenged Roberts to be our defensive stopper; MVC Defensive POY. He told CR that he should ask Les to match him with the other team's best player each night and make it his mission to shut them down. I love this kind of stuff!

Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final
???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
