...and BOY are my arms tired. Bada bump.
Great weekend....MY actual 1st trip to Vegas. Don't mean to sound like some bumpkin (I have travelled a bit) but MAN is that town BIG. Its like one HUGE Mall. Ceasars Palace is so big...man those Greeks really now how to build a place. Mirage was a nice place to stay.
Congrats to BU for putting together a flawless trip. A little golf, betting ...refreshments...GREAT food (I guess the days of cheap eats in Vegas are gone YIKES)
Nice to meet several BU posters...Heemymonster, Chitown, BradleyBrave and a few others that slip my fried mind.
The arena was nice....better then the usual HS Gym. Refs were suspect. They seemed to be impressed or intimidated with Illinois's name. I dunno for sure.
Illini 2-1 0ver BU in numbers but BU held there own in the game.
I'm one that really could care less about playing Illinois. Its ok but once every 4-5-6 years is fine. I'm more concerned about playing well and THATS what I hope is happening.
We bring THAT effort and intensity the rest of the year and we could make some noise. I just want to see some carry-over to ANOTHER Illinois team specifically Northern Illinois.
Wonderful balanced effort by all. SO many "keys" to the game...Warrens three of a GREAT screen, Sams free throws, Roberts MONSTER rebound and putback...CR went up and stole it against bigger players and the entrie crowd gasped.
DSE got hosed on his charge and basket taken away especially when Cole went down and got the EXACT opposite call. Need to see that replay for sure.
DSE with some huge defense. Will held his own and outplayed Tisdale IMO. Sams giving 100% on a 65% leg...he was limping alot.
Nice contributions from Sticks. Had a riot greeting the team back at the Mirage. We "owned" the hotels North end for a few hours with hundreds of Red clad fans waiting at the entrance and taking up an entire open Bar that allowed us to hang over the rails and high five the players as they continued into the hotel.
We were loud but its Vegas and no one cared......
NOW..I must rest. Go BU and BUILD on this win.
