  • ISU sneaks by St. Bonn; 80-77

OE drops 28, as ISU wins over SBU 80-77

SBU had the ball with 3 seconds left, after ISU missed 2 free throws. A steal for ISU sealed the game.

I wonder if ISU's message board is brimming with confidence (because they are undefeated) or in total chaos like this one after the 2 point win against Wofford?

I think of myself as middle ground, but this board it amazing to me as to how completely polarized a fandom of a team can be.

This just shows that despite ISU's easier than pancake schedule, they are still about equal strength to BU when it comes to beating a team about as strong as Wofford. It's probably the closest we'll be able to evaluate them before Valley season starts LOL.

actually there's not much talk at all....they feel pretty bummed out and are seemingly looking for someone to blame...like whoever got them into this tournament...

and Wofford is a much better team than St. Bonaventure..

the Jays' next opponent Nebraska just beat USC 51-48..but it was an ugly, ugly game with neither team seemingly being able to score unless the other had defensive breakdowns...and there were a whole lot of those...
Nebraska was outrebounded 36-22 but found a way...USC isn't very good...and only draws 4000 for a home game against a major opponent!

I'd say they're pretty equal. Wofford has the experience but the Bonnies have some up and coming youngsters. Wofford might win a best of 5 series 3-2. (of course, this is all just my opinion and I could be wrong )

Yikes. Checking out the rest of those with a 300+ SOS non-conference schedule:

BYU, Marquette, Illinois, Kansas, Iowa State, Ohio State and St. Bon...

a new CHN mid-major Top 25 is out, and despite the 6-0 record, looks like ISU isn't fooling too many...

I wouldn't worry too much about this T. A big road win in DeKalb Wednesday should get bradley closer to the Top-30 maybe. Besides, as you know, polls are pretty meaningless in November.
Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10

                    As are 6-0 records.

Maybe I don't post enough to understand the dynamics, but with BU easily coming off of one of it's best wins in recent years the redbirds are somehow topic worthy of discussion in what way????

I hate hearing people talk about crap like "little brother" syndrome at schools like Illinois, but outside of the rivalry in what way, shape or form does a BU victory over a ranked Big Ten school become fodder for bashing another school?

Yep, their schedule stinks like a rotting corpse but I guess when you look at the fact that BU and UIUC were playing for the little guys trophy, and that Illinois lost to a Utah team on a tip-in or whatever. BU didn't exactly get Bruce Webber's final four team either.

Illinois is overhyped and overrated. BU was the more experienced team and sad to say, wanted it more! I guess the true measuring stick will be ISU/Utah. Let the six degrees of separation conversation begin.

Actually it looks the Missouri Valley isn't fooling too many either.

Only 2 teams (UNI and Illinois State) in the top 25 for a Poll that only includes NON-BCS?????

                        Yikes.

And Shaunguth, don't you find it funny that there is an entire top 25 Poll for NON-BCS programs? Weren't you questioning the whole BCS thing in relation to College basketball?

Yes.....I'm still wondering what exactly the "Bowl Championship Series" has to do with college basketball.

Well once you figure it out, I think you will have a much better idea of the college basketball landscape.
