I think he has with the freshmen Milos and Eastman (who is unfortunately redshirting). Hopefully, the future looks bright. And history shows that Warren is a good 3 point shooter as well (he just hasn't gotten his groove back yet). Maniscalco is also adequate when others around him play well.

Hopefully, this team will get their outside shooting (and FT shooting) worked out by conference play. If they do I think BU has as good of a chance as anyone to win the MVC this year.

A grouping of SM, AW, MK,TB,WE has the potential to bust a zone defense. We need MK to step up some more, but MK has started to show some signs of hitting the three in a game situation.

While I agree that EM is still struggling offensively, his numbers were not much different than SM's.

Am glad to see that Dave and Chuck agreed wholeheartedly with Les's assessment that this team just did not play with effort or passion tonight, a game that they should have automatically been up for. But if Utah does pull the upset tonight, or even if not, Bradley better put forth an effort they can be proud of tomorrow. Tonight was not it!

              Game story from BradleyBraves.com-
LAS VEGAS ?Sophomore forward Taylor Brown (Atlanta, Ga./Dunwoody H.S.) tallied a career scoring high for the third consecutive game by pumping in a game-high 21 points, but he was the only Bradley player to reach double-figures as Oklahoma State (5-0) earned a 68-57 victory against the Braves (3-2) in the third round of the HoopTV Las Vegas Invitational Friday night at the Orleans Arena.

              Box score-

BU will play Illinois, who lost a huge lead, and fell to Utah 60-58 on a last second shot by a former BU recruit, freshman Shawn Glover-

Flat out... We beat very few teams in the country the way we played tonight. Kudos to our braves to even pull the game back to a respectable level. We had better be totally jacked to play the Illini tomorrow, because I know they will be.

                  -we shot bad
                  -missed layups
                  -missed FTs
-the stupid high screen fouls came back to haunt us
-we have to take better care of the ball, dropping it every time we have it in the paint hurts
-seem to play timid at times
-we have the talent, just need the killer instinct

I dont post very often but I felt the need to after reading some of these posts. I'll start off by saying I respect everyone on this board and feel it has some of the best fans in the country posting on it. However, sometimes we need to be realistic and call things like they clearly are.

Granted it is early and perhaps some players have minor injuries that they are working through. Basketball is a physical game and these types of injuries are things that every team deals with. The coaches or players would never use them as an excuse because they know its part of the game.

As far as OK ST. being a top 10 team at the end of the year, I would humbly disagree with that assessment. Nothing I saw last night, besides Anderson, was extraordinary. With just decent play we easily could have won that game. Even with our horrible play we still had 3 possessions down by 8 and never got a shot off.

Silly things such as the constant moving screens MUST stop. These are things I put squarely on the coaches. The constant missed FT's and layups scream of a lack of concentration. Also, can we please play our starters more than 4 minutes (barring foul trouble or bad play) to start a game?

I love this team and I love the optimism from this board but there comes a time when I have to wonder if those in charge are getting the most out of their players. Thanks for letting me rant and lets go kick some Illini butt!

These are the same things that we have done since the start of the season, We also had a 10-5 lead at the 1st timeout and Jim substituted us right out of the lead as we were outscored 10-0 after the timeout; the next problem is when Edge and Sam are on the court at the same time we get outscored everytime, the staff should recognize this by now and quit using them together.

DSE needs a lot more minutes than he's been getting. Good court presence who gets the ball where it counts without all the dribble, dribble, dribble. And can we stop conceding the 3 on defense? Even if it means not sagging so much on the inside? Last time I checked, points in the paint only count for two, versus the gimmee 3s we allow over and over ...

This simply isn't true. Okie State is a middle-of-the-pack Big 12 team...They were picked to finish 6th in their conference...
They are a decent team with some good athletes...but they are not a top 10, top 25 nationally type of team...
This is just wishful thinking on your part.

I personally am not concerned with beating these types of teams, I just want to see us start finishing in the top 3 in our conference on a consistent basis, until that starts happening I'm going to be grumpy.

                              Bu 57 - ou 68

Tornado---You are correct. We have the talent but not the killer instinct.
I am very concerned about our inbility to play up to our talent level and to maintain a reasonable level of play on a consistant basis.

IMO we should have seen this coming with the very sloppy game against PC.

This team just seems to have little intensity or focus and they continually make 8th grade mistakes which should be coached out of them by now. Im referring to things like free throw lane violations, moving picks, thread the needle passes, skip passes across court, not blocking out on the boards.

Re: our weak offense---IMO we play our bigs out too high using them set set screens(Many Illegal!) and as a result, we have no one inside for offensive rebounding or to post up. Most of the time, our guards do not look to the post in lieu of passing the ball around the perimeter.

One final comment---On occasion, some posters respond to comments about our poor record the past 7 years by referring to our sweet 16 year which was our one success during that time---Let's remember that we had an assistant coach named C. Buescher that year and we don't have him now. Nuff said?

I had confidence in Jim for a long time but now I am starting to feel like he is not doing as good a job as he continues to want to play a small team, he does a great job coaching offensive plays but struggles to have the right players on the floor, I hope I am wrong but he reminds me a lot of Ron Zook in that he had 1 great season and recruits good talent but doesn"t put them in a good condition to win. Both of these coaches bragged before the season on how good their teams were going to be yet neither seems to be able to get a win against a good team. Our sweet 16 team would never have taken out Summerville or Ruffin in less he was in foul trouble after just 4 minutes into the game, if these players cannot go for at least 10 minutes then they are not in good enough shape as they get 2 timeouts before the 10 minute mark which should be plenty of time to catch a breather.
