Cully Payne / CR's Shot

Anybody see any recaps of the Wichita State/Iowa game?

Cully Payne hit a 3/4 length shot to end the 1st half! Obviously it's no 70-footer to win the game and move on in a tournament... but pretty great nonetheless!! He's the bright spot in an otherwise dull group of Hawekeyes...

I saw that, but it was not in tonight's Wichita State game, but rather in yesterday's game between Iowa and Texas.
It pulled Iowa into a tie at halftime. Obviously not as thrilling as CR's gamewinner at the final buzzer, but a similar shot.

I was watching it live Monday night. That shot capped a 27-11 run for Iowa to actually tie #3 Texas at halftime 38-38...so it wasn't just a novelty shot. Iowa hit a 3 to take the lead 41-38 in the first minute of the 2nd half, then they were outscored by 28 over the final 19 minutes. D'oh!

Not as impressive of a shot but he had a crazy shot in the WSU game also. Well if you want to call it a shot. He threw the ball with both hands flat footed towords the goal trying to give the alley oop to one of his players....but instead the shot just went ahead and went in the basket for the "3". Ugliest and yet funniest thing I've ever seen.

but Cully Payne's little brother, currently attending school in Florida,
is the #1 ranked player in the state in his class (2013), and he's moving back to Illinois to attend school here next year.
