  • More on Will Egolf, info from his coaches

I have compiled a report from replies I received when I communicated with Will's coaches. One of his present high school coaches even gave permission to use his e mail and reproduce it for fans on this board.

I would be happy to send this report to anyone who wants to see it.

Just PM me and I will send it out to you...
Because it contains the actual e mail from the coach, I am not going to reproduce it on the open board, but it's free to anyone who wants to see ...

I also like the fact that his brother is 6'10.......maybe he WILL grow some more!

It's hard to do a direct assessment on a player from Alaska who hasn't been covered by the (sometimes-less-than-objective) scouting services.

But, I don't think BU would offer this kid a scholie unless they were sure he was a gamer. With a lot of kids coming to campus in the near future, I think JL would only offer this kid if was in the top 2-3 kids that they had in the pipeline. Given JL's eye for talent, I trust that Will Egolf is a solid recruit.

T....put me on your mailing list please.

Dallas....I agree. I think this kid might have been "hidden" a bit. Like I stated the other day the fact that Whisky was looking and said to be strongly interested gives me hope that, in time, others might have come calling.

I'm with Mike...hopefully he adds an inch or two because BU will throw 25 lbs on him easy.

Everything I have heard about him is pretty good.
It all depends on how he develops over the next couple years, as I expect he isn't going to come in a a freshman and dominate.
The fact that the kid has been working with an NBA pro while just a junior in high school and that he caught the eye of JL and staff, I suspect he will turn out to have way more pluses than minuses.

Thats why I hope we can find a BIG Juco or stud big freshman so this kid could RS. Give him another year at HS while working with the NBA guy....1 RS year with BU getting bulked up then turn him loose.

Squeeze that other inch fromm the family gene pool...add 25 lbs of muscle and we have 6'10" 235.....I'll take it.
