Yeah.....I noticed that too. Of course, I noticed it a little too much last season when someone got hot.

Singh is a good enough passer that if he doesn't shoot the ball there, I have confidence that he can find the open guy on the perimeter. The fact of the matter is that its something we more or less ignored yesterday, and I am not sure why.
It's just not in our game plan I watched both games this weekend. I saw our 5's work their ass off getting in position, calling for the ball and everyone of our guards would look them off and pass to another gun or shoot themself's. No wonder we have no inside game
I agree with all you have said here BB

Wouldn't they have to be looking up and not at the floor to see Will and Sam call for the ball?!

If we are going to be an upper echelon team this year it will take AW to put us on his back to get there. I hope JL starts creating a game plan around AW. Also he hit all his 3's around the top of the key. JL also needs to tell him to be a bit more selfish. I hate to say this but I wish he had a bit of OE in him!

One slight exception is that last night, DSE made a nice pass to WE who didn't finish off the play.

Guards will get "Bigs" the ball if they have confidence that the "Bigs" will do something constructive with it. Otherwise, they will distribute the ball where they think the best chance of success lies. Ask yourself this: Have our "Bigs" given our guards any reason to be confident?

Pretty impossible to do something if never given the ball...

I do believe Will has scored 10 pts in 2 games but only has taken 7 or 8 shots...

How many shots have Sammy and Eddren taken?

I wonder if WE's minutes may be because of his defensive effort. I have noticed that he loses his man fairly easily on D. Can't really play a tough tight man to man when guys keep losing their assigned man.
Some see a hopeless end, while others see an endless hope.

Awfully hard to stay on your man when you have to consistently help out on Eddren's and Sammy's men...

If you want to point a finger, start with the breakdowns 25 ft from the basket

Also, I can't remember the last time we had a guard who was good at getting the ball in the post as Ruff wasn't great at that, just slightly above average.

                        Maybe JC?

I can already tell that DSE is wave lengths above the others in that aspect and Will would enjoy the both of them receiving more time together.
Finally someone else that noticed 2 guards dribbling way too much and not making any post passes, DSE made several post passes last night and if Sam Singh had kept going on his cut to the basket he could of had a layup , that is why I like DSE so much as he doesn"t dribble around , he knows what he is going to do and runs the point with authority.

The 3 headed monster stats for the first 2 games:

                          ------------------------ / Reb /
                          / / / / / / FG / / / FT / / / OF - DF / / TP / / PF / //A / / / TO //// BLK / //S ////Min P

                          WE - - 5 - 8 - - 0 - 1 - - 2 - 5 = 7 -- 10 - - 5 - - - 0 - - - -4 - - 0 - - 0 ----30
                          SS - - 1 - 4 - - 0 - 1 - - 3 - 5 = 8 -- 2 -- - 5 - - - 2 - - - -3 --- 1 - - 1 ---- 36
                          AT - - 0 - 1 - - 3 - 4 - - 0 - 3 = 3 -- 3 - -- 0 - - - 0 - - - -1 - - 0 - - 0 ----16

Yap, send SS to the end of the bench, peeked out and taking up someone else's Min's Not going to help this team, send him to where the splendors hurt the most

                          But heres some facts first
He started Friday and we got off to a good start and he played 17 mins against BYU starting center who had the same playing time (17). Sam had better stats then him and was not beaten by him
Sunday WE started and left the game at around the 15:30 min. mark with BU down 10 - 4 and looking like a lost hooker who could not find her corner Was replaced by SS. Sam played to the 3 min mark and BU was ahead 26 - 19! His passes were good, screens good and his blocking out led to RB's for others plus a couple himself. His D was good as his man did not score and he had a blk. Both WE and AT man bet them bad a couple times
I say let the old broken down, body scared, injury ridden, can't jump, over the hill, and a push over go were all finished BU players go when they are washed up and beat down by fans who know they can be miles ahead with someone else!
JK Glad we have you Sam

You got to have a chance to prove yourself Ask yourself this, when the bombs are not dropping do the bigs give up Hell No Just pass the ball to the low post, establish a low post game, good things will happen If that happens the Def. will start sagging and our small guards will have a good look/shot at the basket and Everyone will be happy Don't Think Friend

As soon as our guards get the ball inside our post players will score, another big like Taylor Brown should help in freeing up our center. I thought Will had a good game against BYU as he had 6 points in just 12 minutes, he needs to start getting 25 minutes in order to be able to get into the flow of the game. I still believe Will could average 10-12 points a game if he gets enough minutes.
