        Appreciate it Shunguth.......

ACTUALL butts in the seats.....BU 5000 for Idaho State. I don't understand why they even put out the numbers they do.

Tickets sold....so what. Those tickets don't fill up the arena or make any noise helping the home team.

It also paints a false picture of whats REALLY going on.

        Bagdad Bob would be proud.

I still don't get it. I thought it was all about wins and losses?
Bradley wins, and there are fans still griping about things like how the team reports the attendance 3 days later.
Bradley reports the attendance the same way as every team does, as far as I know, seats sold.
If anyone wants to do a personal body count at each game, feel free to count them and report them.

But, I don't agree on a couple things-
There were a lot more than 5000 people there Sunday. There may not have been 9000, but 5000 wouldn't even come close to filling the lower bowl, yet much of the upper bowl was filled, as well as only a modest number of no-shows in the lower bowl.
And, I don't think there are many people who are the least bit concerned about how Bradley or the Civic Center reports the attendance.

Does it matter whether there are 5 or 7 or 9 anyways?

The majority fall asleep in their seats during games and leave before the games are over...

Sadly, I jumped up when Sammy hit the 3 with a minute left and there was a couple in front of me that I believe were BOTH basically asleep and that pretty much woke them up and proceeded to give them heart attacks (theoretically speaking).

I'm almost starting to believe that pumping in fake crowd noise might be better sometimes...

Yeah....I noticed a LOT of people leaving Sunday before the game was over. I personally don't care for that as I feel it doesn't show respect to the team to get up and leave, in masses no less, while they're still playing.

Yes, because the traffic in Peoria is so bad and ppl are so worried about it that they need to leave early just so they can get home 5-10 minutes sooner...

Its all sad really...between the ppl who fall asleep during the games, the ppl who wouldn't get out of their seats unless there was a fire started under them, the corporate seating groups who buy tickets and never show up, and those who leave 3-4 minutes early...

I just don't get it....maybe someone can enlighten me as to why they even show up or purchase tickets?

Don't forget the ones that would much rather stay home and watch the mighty Bears!

I'm just one that doesn't understand useless info. Why report stuff that isn't true.....this ISN'T directed JUST at BU.

In BU's case...this info is used by some to later claim that attendance is at an alltime high and interest in the program is skyrocketing through the roof.

That stuff insults my intelligence and many others who actually GO to the games and see the truth.

BU has most always drawn well and will most likely continue to for the foreseeable future.

These "misleading" facts don't help make the case for whats going on. MOSTLY that SUNDAY games ****. PERIOD.

I hate em and so do probably 75% of people in the stands.

So report that 5000-6000 were there so when they sit down at the end of the year they can say...."hey guys, Sunday games are hurting are bottom line and NOT making the fans...you know the ones that keep this program alive, very happy.

Do college programs only care about how many tickets were sold....if so thats hogwash and terrible business practice.

I can't imagine the Rolling Stones want to sell out an arena and only have 1/3 -1/2 of it filled.

Some need to quit being SO sensitive about BU. When you ignore the facts it can lead to a programs downfall and the fact IS Sunday games HURT this program.

Winning is VERY importaint but IF thats all you care about eventually those will diminish if OTHER facets of the program are ignored or pushed aside. Do we want a winning program and cheat to do it...no...so its NOT all about wins.

But IF thats how you want to look at it....how about winning enough games to finsih higher then middle of the pack in the Valley, perhaps actually WIN the Valley tournament and/or win enough games to go to the NCAA OR at least the NIT?

This reporting that BU has one 20 games or more for 3 years in a row is bunk also......useless numbers when you look at the big picture of WHAT those results actually mean.

As I said, all schools, as far as I know, report attendance as tickets sold, not just Bradley. So I don't quite understand the issue here. Do you want Bradley to do a body count each game, and report the actual number of people in the stands each game, despite the fact that no other school does that?

I don't like Sunday games either. But I'll go when they play them.

Early season games have always had a lot more no-shows than games later in the season, especially compared with conference games. I don't think that has ever been any different, so why are we talking about it again?

And what is more important, the number of fans who are in the arena or the number who pay to buy seats? Ask anyone associated with Bradley or with any college basketball team....it's the number of tickets sold and the revenue generated that is important. Bradley has reached record high revenues these past few years. That is not deniable. Nobody cares about no-shows, unless it eventually leads to less tickets sold, which it hasn't.

ISU reports attendance based on actual butts in the seats, unless it is a sell out, since it doesn't make any sense to say its a sell out, but there were less then 10,200 people there...

Yeah, where are you getting this information? I would be very surprised if they reported this way... Nor do I understand how it could be actually accurate, electronic readers have come a long way, but the error is still large.
