I wouldn't mind the mediocre video IF it was the best possible. However when I watch video from less prominent basketball programs than BU with less of a fan base and the quality is superior it really doesn't sit well.

So it makes me wonder what is the excuse? We know financially BU athletics is doing very well.

I think it reflects poorly on Bradleybraves.com since we can't get a decent video feed.

With that said I appreciate having a video feed but at this quality I would expect it to be free.

I just heard from a high authority that the problem is not with JumpTV- it was a technical problem with some equipment locally. It is a one-time issue and will get fixed tonight, and won't happen again.

You know DC I have heard that time and time again about the production of internet feeds, audio whatever and it is crying wolf over and over again. This time it was a malfunction, next time it will be something else... whatever if you decide you are going to offer a product, then produce that product to the best of what is available. NO more excuses and honestly Im tired of excuses, how about we pay for a product and that product is given without issues or excuses?

I am just relaying what Bobby Parker emailed me. I was at the game, so I don't even know what happened. But it was an equipment malfunction with something of WMBD's needed for the streaming to be produced for the JumpTV connection.
I am not trying to make excuses for them, but this is all relatively new technology and a lot of things can go wrong.

Not directed at you. This is though not new technology and it is not a new product that Bradley sells. It has though been a real trying product that most people would have quit and given up on long ago. I could not imagine providing such difficult service and continuing to have individuals buy that product.

BU needs to really understand how P"OD those of us who bought the product tonight and most all of last year have been with the service and quality. NO more excuses, get it right.

When you are putting a new product out there you need to go through beta testing and obviously this was not done. Let's at least get someone who understands this technology to role it out or create the right process so these errors do not happen. It was just not the audio that was horrible, the quality of video was also below par.

I guess I'm very disappointed because just a few weeks ago we were told on this site that there was going to be a serious upgrade. Expectations were set and not met!

I thought this was the same product that the Horizon League uses? I remembered talk of people asking if it was going to be as good quality as the Horizon.

From what I understand it is the same product. The problem is with the PCC/BU... the old Cr@p in, Cr@p out adage is applicable here I believe...

Ahh roger that, I would have to think with hundreds of fans paying for the video, they should be able to pay for a nice audio/video server and equipment. If anything else, just get someone with a good video camera and stream it on justin.tv LOL.

I have very little faith that anyone in Bradley's athletic department truly understands the value of the web.

After two years, they finally learned how to post pictures correctly on the web site so they're not completely distorted.

I bet they'd deliver a better product if they just handed the site over to a student at the GCC.

For an athletic program with little media coverage outside of Central Illinois...a good web site with quality video is a must.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they don't understand the value, but rather don't understand the proper management methods. I know of students who very easily could create a site that has better features, delivers better content, and yes, a better video quality live feed(It's really rather simple nowadays, now managing the payment and subscriptions is a different issue, and where JumpTV comes in). However, the upkeep and management of a site like that is not an entirely desirable position. Often the people with the skills to correctly maintain a site are not those who have the knowledge/resources to provide it's content. Therein lies the disconnect, a quality site needs someone other than the content creator to manage/update the site and possess the technical background, and I don't believe BU is there yet.
