How much longer before we make a change? EM reminds me a lot of Cello.

I like DSE and think in a few years he will be all conference.

Haha, I'm glad someone else is saying it. To me it should be clear that SM > EM by leaps and bounds at this point. EM can get a few assists, but he is a huge offensive liability. When's he's on the court it lets other teams play off of him so they can more easily defend the passing lanes and interior, and it takes away his dribble-drive.

Keep in mind our guys played against one of the better guards in the country and a team very strong in guard play. I think both EM and SM will be OK.

Explain to me again why we're throwing someone under the bus after his 1st game of his sophomore year? Dodie Dunson is a 5th year senior that went scoreless, missed 2 front ends, and grabbed a total of 1 rebound and had 1 assist in 25 minutes. Where's the thread ripping on him? Give me a break guys. Give me a break.

I think you'll find several comments on dodie's poor performance (myself included). And leading up to this game there was a LARGE group of fans who said EM should start over SM... I think this game clearly proved that wouldn't be a wise decision...

EM isn't the reason we lost. Also take note that he outrebounded all of our big men last night. Find another scapegoat.

He's not a scapegoat man, he simply isn't performing like we'd want a starter too, and it seems clear to some of us we have better options... Sheesh. Many here want a bigger lineup. Not starting EM, and sliding everyone over one spot would give us that.

A thread devoted to ripping a kid after 1 game seems like scapegoating to me. This isn't targeting you, just more of a general observation. McCain isn't that much smaller than SM, so the size argument doesn't hold much water. Plus he rebounds better than most of our bigs anyways. DSE went O-fer from the field and the line, and some are pining for more? Come on. 14 minutes was good for him, as were 24 for EM.

Tell me who on the team hawks the ball on D as good as EM! Please! I'm with BB again on this one. One game does not make a season anyway. We will also be hard pressed to play a better guard then Jimmer Fredette. He will be playing in the NBA.

OK, this thread is hardly ripping him. We're commenting on him, no one even came close to saying we lost because of him, if I'm wrong, please point to a statement even hinting at such. My arguement about playing bigger was if we took out McCain and played a bigger player, not saying Sam was bigger than EM, please re-read my post:

EM is a good player, but a player that cannot find the basket may need to take a seat to develop. These observations are hardly based on one game, but an entire season. He averaged under 6 ppg last year while averaging 25 minutes. If you remove two games that are statistical outliers where he scored 18 (albeit against a great Butler D), and 14, his average drops even more. Point being, the discussion is plenty warranted. Please stop making wild accusations about the conversation and making out the intent of the post to be far more malicious than it is. No one is tearing McCain down, or saying he has no future, only that it may be time for a change.

You can play the 'if you remove' game with just about anyone and anything. His numbers are his numbers.

Again...one game into his sophomore season. If we pulled the plug that early on everyone we wouldn't have a team. Not everyone is going to be a scorer, and he only played about half the game. Sam played 34 minutes, so I don't think he's getting slighted as far as PT goes, nor can he make up all the minutes that EM is playing. Who else is going to take those minutes, and what are they going to do better than him? What are your expectations for him?

Also, what parts of "How long until we make a change" and "I can't take much more of this" aren't rips on EM?

Sorry amc. I'm with SFP and BB. It was one game against very good guards. Let's see how he does against a cupcake (hopefully) Sunday night.

I've got no problem disagreeing, thats what discussion is for. I just don't appreciate it when people say we're 'ripping' on him, using him a 'scapegoat' (which would imply I was the one who lost and needed to shift blame), or saying he's the reason BU lost...
