  • Next game: Idaho State at Bradley, Sunday 11/15 6:05 pm

The Bradley team is back in Peoria and has to prepare quickly for the next game Sunday against Idaho State, 6:05 pm at Carver Arena. It's the first home game this season. Bradley will be without Taylor Brown, according to reports from the game at BYU.

The Idaho State Bengals is coached by Joe O'Brien (this is his 4th season) who was a 4 year letterman at Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois.
They played Friday night (11/13) at Iowa State and lost 88-68.

    stats-

It appears they are not a team that shoots a lot of 3-pointers. In the 88-68 loss to Iowa State, despite trailing for the last 30+ minutes, mostly by double digit margins, they were only 2 of 7 from three. They were outrebounded 40-29 by Iowa State, who is not considered a good rebounding team (last season Iowa State was consistently outrebounded and had only 1 player who averaged more than 3.7 rpg).
And Idaho State had only 5 assists for the entire game.

Idaho State was lead by 2 players who scored in double digits- Broderick Gilchrest, a juco transfer point guard, led Idaho State in scoring with 21 points and hitting 9-of-11 free throws, but he had 5 turnovers. Gilchrist also was Idaho State's leading scorer in their exhibition games (18 and 29 points in the 2 exhibitions).
Amorrow Morgan, another starting guard, added 15 points and was the only other player in double-figures.
The Bengals did get contributions from Demetrius Monroe, who had eight rebounds off the bench. He is usually a starter, but he has been injured, and had not practiced until just this week.
Austin Kilpatrick, a 6'6" G/F came back from shoulder surgery to score seven points, including one of Idaho State's two three-pointers.
Donnie Carson, a 6'2" starting guard had 7 points and 6 rebounds.
Senior Rolando Little, a 6'9" juco transfer who redshirted last year, was expected to be an important player for them, but he played only 13 minutes and had just 2 points and 2 rebounds.

    History-
Idaho State last made it to the NCAA tournament in 1987 with Jim Boutin as their head coach. And their best season was 1977 when they went 23-4 and made it to the Elite 8 under Jim Killingworth. They also were very good in the 1950s, and made it to four NCAA Sweet 16's in that decade (1954, 1957, 1958, and 1959)

Note- Idaho State is the alma mater of Bradley assistant coach Alvin Brooks III. He payed there from 2001-2003.
Here is a nice article about ABIII from the Idaho State website from this past summer-

Looking forward to actually seeing the team this time as opposed to listening through the on-line radio stream.

Hope to see better shooting on the home court. I'd like to think MK can get into this game.

I do too, I think if we want to make a run at the MVC Banner, his develop is going to be very important so that we can keep to big guys on the floor consistently. MK has been getting rave reviews in practice. I'm hoping it translates to the floor sooner rather than later.

I think Mk did not get playing time because it was on the road against a very good opponent, you Don"t want to put him in his first game in a situation where his results may not be good , he will get to play plenty of minutes at home before we go on the road again.

I'm not sure if this is being talked about in another thread but Milos looked kind of lost or tentative in his 2 minutes of playing time tonight. Not to knock on the kid but he wasn't really paying attention in the timeout huddles either. Was looking around at the crowd a few times while Les was drawing up the plays. Perhaps a lack of interest/motivation? We'll see what happens though.
