Don't know how it could help the team to sit a player who has been hyped so much the past off season. We all knew he was going to be punished and it could have happned anytime the last 3 months. Extra workouts, sit out the Lewis game, etc. A lot of fans don't like surprises especially in a game against an opponent of BYU's caliber. Sorry guys, just my opinion. GO BRAVES BEAT BENGALS.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I'm saying the decision to bench TB, and the decision to announce the punishment are two different actions. And if I'm JL, I don't give a d@mn about hype when it comes to impacting my game. If I get even the slightest edge by not announcing the suspension, I'm doing it. The punishment is a different matter, I agree with it, but that is not my point here.

Still don't agree that suspending TB gave BU any kind of an edge, but he'll be back for the next game and right now that's all that matters.

No one is saying suspending TB gave BU an advantage, please read the posts carefully. Suspending TB is a totally SEPARATE issue.

Everyone is saying that IF we were to suspend TB, THEN not announcing it gives BU a slight advantage in that BYU spends time game planning for a player that is not there...
