I don't think there is an Illinois State fan that doesn't agree with most of the chatter out there. Supposedly Jankovich said that they have a plan for getting better names on our non-con next year.

My guess is that it will involve ISU getting in one of those popular tourneys early on.

Other things that I have heard is that they could possibly use the football team as leverage for BCS schools. Basically we would send them out for a beating to get their BBall team at RBA.

It has also been suggested that we accept a one and done and then use that money to pay a good team to come in and play.

At this point, all we can do is win the games we have, which hopefully we have a repeat of last year in the non-con for the valleys sake.

Yes, and I'm certain your new football coach would be ok with that

Well if it is coming from the AD, he better be ok with it. Besides, most D-1AA football teams play a D-1 team early in the football season. It wouldn't be any different than going to Illinois every year to get our butts handed to us. If we are going to play those games in football, we might as well use them to our advantage.

Nothing wrong with that. To me you guys need to do whatever it takes to improve that schedule and if it means sacrificing the old football program, YEA!

The extra funds that ISU received from the Illinois football game goes toward the needed revenue for the football program, football doesn"t exactly make money for ISU which is why a lot of private schools no longer have it .
