Lewis proved they are a pretty good basketball team. They beat UIC fairly easily, 65-55. Lewis lead from start to finish, and lead by as many as 19 points late in the game.
I think Lewis proved they are a pretty good team in front of 8000 fans at both Notre Dame and Bradley,
I doubt if someone missed noticing their talent right in front of their eyes, they probably won't accept this as evidence either.
I think UIC's big freshman Louis Green (10 pts/8 rebs) is going to be a solid player.
UIC could be a pretty weak team this year. They lost Josh Mayo and a couple other key players from last year's team. They appear to be very weak inside and outside this year.
The UIC starters were outscored by Lewis starting five 65-18! and they were 1-15 from three in last night's game. No UIC starter scored more than 9 or had more than 3 rebounds.
The UIC starters were outrebounded by Lewis 34-10, and the UIC starters totalled just 2 assists for the game.
ISU plays at UIC on Nov. 23. As weak as UIC is this year, they will fit in nicely with the other opponents on ISU's schedule.
I doubt UIC will win more than 1 or 2 conference games this year, they are severely undermanned. I have them 0-18, which has never happened in the Horizon League since the league schedule went to 18 games. I can't imagine a scenario where the Flames avoid a 300+ RPI year.
And the Illinois State Redbirds welcome in The UIC Flames on Nov 23rd at 7PM.
That game is in Chicago actually.
Dinma Odiakosa 6'8 255......The Nigerian Nightmare!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 37 points and 27 boards in 2 wins over Bradley. "Will Egolf is 6'9 and he had 4 rebounds. That's not good enough and he's not good enough"....Dick Versace 2/9/10
I would guess part of the reason the series continued and part of why the game is in Chicago this year is because of the abundance of Chicago area players on the Redbird roster and especially for OE. His family, friends to get to see him play at 'home' so to speak during his last year. Also it's a nice recruiting tool for the Chicago area kids to see the Birds in person. But I'm sure you guys already know that.

Just making a little fun of the Ole ISU schedule. Dont really care why is the reason for the Birds to play v UIC. Just find it, I guess funny, that UIC is horrible and poof they also sit on ISU's already weak schedule. I know that isnt ISU's fault but still just another weakness on that non conference schedule.
They should win, and will have won the last two times they've played the Flames at the Pavilion. Yet we laugh at ISU.
Not so much that they play the Flames, it's more of their whole lack of schedule! If they played the Flames plus a few other tough out of conference teams then I'm sure this would never come up. After all we play NIU up there for some the same reasons but the other games out of conference make up for that one.

To be fair, more often than not, @UIC is a very reasonable game for the schedule. Figures ISU would catch them in the down cycle, though. It's like their schedule is destined for something special
