"WHALE" of a film session today...for those who "much" is given... "much" is expected..NO buy-in/NO PT...no matter WHOM it is!!!

Check your self-esteem/your Ego at the door...It better be about TEAM or you will be exposed!!

I would say it's probably a commentary on some of the laziness on defense and on the glass. I don't think you can pinpoint one guy or one position, because I saw guys who SHOULD be great perimeter defenders getting beat regularly, and guys who SHOULD be owning the glass getting outpositioned and outhustled underneath. That's what I saw Sunday, so that's my take.

Yeah, and I'm thinking that if I looked at the box score and wasn't too happy about one guy having 15 rebounds then Coach would be even more less thrilled...

Defensive issue...could be boards as well... defense and boards are from the heart..after you learn the fundamentals.....its all desire....

We have no chance against BYU if we don't defend the perimeter and control the glass, as they shoot lights out from 3. It will be imperative to make sure every shot is challenged and that they're limited to one shot only.

Very cryptic, I'm sure they know who they are.

I couldn't agree more with all of you guys. It's about no inside defense, no defense against the drive, and no toughness and blocking out on the boards. If this doesn't change, it's going to be a long season.

I guess I'm surprised this was an issue at all considering the amount of game experience the players had with the Brazil trip and the Depaul scrimmage.

Although we are not privy to the results of the Depaul game, we know the team had success in Brazil. So, have the players just gotten complacent since then?

I take it as not so villed attempt to remind everyone this is an "us" first program and the "I" stuff will get you a great view of the games.

Also, this is by all accounts is a defense first program and if you cant, wont buy into what the staff wants in playing defense that will also get you a great seat to watch games.

I think JL has very high expectations and he now has a lot of pieces to put into play.

Also, Someone asked about Brown not playing the last 10 minutes, would not be surprised if some of this was directed at him. Also I guarantee he is not one bit pleased with the work by his two "veteran" point guards.

Could complacency come from all the poster's predictions of a 1-2 finish in the MVC this year!

lol. I highly doubt what we think impacts how the players prepare or play the game.

Oh well. BYU game will be interesting to see what happens then. Let's see how the players respond.

Im not calling you out, hou, but did you think TB played poorly? I thought he brought lots of intensity, and was a major factor in us not getting completely buried on the boards. I assumed he didn't play the last 10 minutes because he's locked up his playing time and coach Les wanted to see what others could do.

Here's my thoughts - And they could be way off but from what I have seen and heard about TB, I don't think they are -

                            1. TB no doubt looked impressive Sunday.
                            2. TB no doubt had a great summer, specifically in Brazil.
                            3. TB showed some real flashes last year and had many of us pining for more of him during the year.
                            3. From observers close to the program, and some objective observers, TB could push for all-conference THIS YEAR if he plays to his potential.
                            4. While he had a good game, the tape exposed what I think I saw and several of us saw on Sunday - Some general laziness in defense and boxing out by TB.
                            5. JL knows TB not only has the potential to be a great player, but also has the ability to take this team to another level this year and for years to come. So, perhaps he's being harder on him to make sure he reaches that potential sooner than later.

Like I said, just a theory. But it wouldn't surprise me if this were close to the truth.

Yeah, that's what I figured as well.

Brown and Warren were head-and-shoulders above the rest of the team on Sunday.
