I shoulda just deleted the thread. But you know what... I'd rather leave this for everyone to pick on me and make me the villain therefore they can take all their aggression out on me and relieve their stress that way.

Hope you and others feel better.

And I hope the jack-arses are caught.
Sorry if I hurt your feelings, but don't know what you mean by "others". So far all the posts have been humor free and I appreciate their reporting on such a serious situation.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I was thinking the same thing, but the PJS is reporting "About 2:40 a.m., students received a text message from the university informing them that the campus was on lock down".

Yeah I figured that it had to be BU ForeWarn because when I got the 2nd message about it being "all clear" it was from the same number and included the BU ForeWarn standard header.

He kind of has a point here guys! Just having a gun pointed at you could be bad enough. She will be scarred for quite some time.

Let's agree these scumbags need to see the inside of a jail cell for quite some time.

I guess I just take someone being scarred for life more seriously than you, dude. Maybe MMob was right he should have deleted this thread.

here is my question... I listened to this unfold on the scanner, and have to wonder why it took so long for the students to get this text message? The suspect had been on campus for nearly an hour before we went into "lockdown". What is the point of lockdown if we give the bad guys an hour to mingle?

You know the University has to have some officials thinking the same thing. I'm glad this ended up not being a danger to the BU community and will hopefully allow some administrators to crack down and find out why it took so long. I understand it's 2:40am, but the incident happened way earlier than that... I don't care that it's the middle of the night -- BU students should have received the message way earlier!

Several RA's notified the appropriate HD's (and their friends who live in Tucson and have to get up in the morning...) so security in the dorms was on the lookout and well aware of the situation. Those who have permission to send forewarn messages are unfortunately few and far between, so getting a message out at night is difficult... something that really needs to be looked at.

.. I'd think there should be a Bradley security officer with that access (Do Bradley buildings have "take cover" alarms for tornados that security is already responsible for?)

I think the problem came with the number of students that went outside to see what was going on. I didn't go out there because I live on the other side of campus but from what I've been told, there were a lot of students leaving their dorms and what not to go check it out.

Hopefully this will get looked at because a lot of us feel that we should've gotten a message earlier in the night.

I happened to be at Campustown last night around 6:30 picking up some wings at the Fieldhouse and heard them testing the "Bradley Emergency Notification" system over a very loud speaker system. Not sure if this is brand new or something put in place because of this particular event, but it seemed like it would certainly do the job alongside any other notification process.

It's not new because of this situation. They test that thing all of the time. It's particularly annoying when I'm trying to sleep across the street from the speakers on top of SAC.
