  • The Fieldhouse

I'm a self proclaimed 'troller' on this site, but I thought I should post tonight. I stopped by The Fieldhouse (formerly Gorman's in Campustown near Bradley) with a friend this evening for some beers and wings. WOW is the best word to describe the transformation.

The owner, Mark, spent a good deal of time chatting it up at our table and stressed that BU memorabilia is soon to come (and donations are welcome)! I have to say it will be a great place to watch BU road games this year - lots of room, lots of tvs, good food, cold beer. He confirmed that they'll have the BU game Friday night, so check it out.

Some cool notes: owner's dad played on the last football team at BU...server's t-shirts feature shadowed pictures of BU sports figures, among them Jim Les in his playing days...6 HD projection screens (3 in front, 3 in back room), plus at least 12 47" displays and a handful of 60" displays...parking isn't as big an issue as you might think...has a 'Chicago bar' look and feel (totally changed interior from Gorman's)...standard bar food menu - apps, burgers, wings, sandwiches...owner said he actually has had more of an adult crowd than a student crowd up to this point (I would say it was half and half tonight)...owner will be on WMBD radio at 8am Friday morning.

Hope you all enjoy it, maybe I'll see you there!

Had lunch there today, and the food/atmosphere was terrific! Lots of TV's for viewing, and my cajun chicken sandwich was very tasty! They use big buns that don't fall apart...nice!!

They posted an announcement while I was there for a trolley that will transport patrons to the CC, starting 1.5 hour before the game and run continuously up until game time. The announcement was specific to the Idaho State game on Sunday, but I would expect this service to continue for future games if it is well supported.

Check the place out...you won't be disappointed!

I called in an order of traditional hot wings the other night and they were very tasty and hot! Good stuff. Going in a few hours to try something else, probably a burger. Not staying for the game though, as I'll be watching the game with my parents and they'll want something that's not quite as packed, probably Double A's.
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

Had lunch there too... Burger was good. Layout was good.. TVs were very good. Didn't get a chance to peak into the back room really. Service was a little shaky but I expect that with any new place. I had the garlic butter fries, or butter garlic fries, or something, and they are recommended. Won't be able to watch the game there tonight, but I'll definitely be back.
