  • Top school pursues downtown arena

No it's not Bradley, but Louisville who wants to play in a new downtown arena that will cost nearly $400 million.
They have actually never played on an on-campus arena.
Previously they played at Freedom Hall which is on the site of the fairgrounds, and was always very cheap to play in.

Big difference between this situation and the CC.....Louisville will be considered the primary tenant of their new arena. I would contend that BU is one of several "important" tenants of the CC.

      That's an arbitrary label only.
They will still occupy the facility only 15 times a year, and if the facility wants to survive,
they'll have to get the monster trucks, the ice shows, the concerts, and the other events.
My guess - they''ll make a push for a pro basketball team and maybe indoor soccer or hockey.

I was just using the description provided in the article.

If they get other sports teams to use the facility more than UL, then they wouldn't be the primary tenant anymore.
