Illinois had been in the running for Chicago Simeon star Derrick Rose. But now he lists the following schools, and Illinois isn't one of them--
DePaul, Indiana, Kansas, Memphis and UCLA.
Is this gonna have an impact on the the Gordon saga? I was told just yesterday (from an Illini fan) that Gordon and Rose were gonna go to school together and he was optimistic on getting both at UIUC.
there is big upside to being bu. we don't have to deal with prima donas like the bcs teams do.
No. we have to deal with mediocre non-qualifiers. Come on, I'd much rather be in the running for a top 5 recruit, than sitting around waiting to see if a prep school bench warmer has good enough grades to play only to find out a week after school starts that he doesn't.

It's no coincidence that every school listed on Rose's list are ADIDAS schools. If this doesn't get the NCAA's attention about improprieties in big-time recruiting, I don't know what will.
The surprise team on his list is Indiana. Who would have thought he would consider Indiana over Illinois? Especially since Kelvin Sampson has only had a couple months to recruit him there.

The NCAA looks the other way in situations like this.
