  • Brandon Dunson

Dodies brother, Brandon Dunson, initially commmitted to Tennessee-Chattanooga, then transferred to SIU-Edwardsville. Now he is at Wabash Valley Community College, and is getting interest from a number of mid-major schools.
Here is a nice article about Brandon-

I wonder why Bradley is not interested in him? We are looking at guards for next year so why not him?

Brandon's not as physical as his brother but he's just as good of a defender and much more athletic. Here's some video of him from last year and some from the summer league that took place in Bloomington this past July.

Robert Eppinger shows up on Robert Morris' roster as does Billy Rush

          Wheaton has BCC's Aaron Garriott,

Monmouth is coached by Mark Vershaw and they have E. Peoria's Zach Ott and Havana's Fletcher Morgan

Augustana has Tyler Storm's Geneseo teammate Drew Crogeart, Putnam Co.'s Eric Safranski, and Morton's Kevin Waibel.

Greenville College has Laphonzo Ellis, son of the ex-NBA'er

Here's a video of Brandon from this past semester (got it from the Iowa State board): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dtA6mVBsz8

I've always liked Brandon's game and he's improved tons. Looks like he could make a big contribution at BU. Imagine a backcourt of him, DD, and AW. There hasn't been any indication of JL recruiting him but one would assume that he is a target simply because of his relationship with the program.

Maybe a "Walk-on" would be a possibility. What's the latest on Tyler Less possibly walking on also?

I really like Brandon's Game... He is long guard with crazy athleticism... He is also a good kid. However, Im not a fan of kids that transfer more than once.... He has been at 3 schools before his next destination... Im sorry but I would never recruit players like that (Personal Opinion).

Tyler Les walking on at Bradley??????? Not bad plan if your Jim Les... but there is no way possible he is ready for the valley.... What are others thoughts on this....

I'd take a 6'10" + 250 lbs + paint eater over a 3 star PG! We have enough talent for the PG position next year with EM, DSE and SM. I'd take them over any other trio in the Valley any day next year. We have guards guys. What we do not have is a serviceable night in and night out real legitimate 5. WE is too small, believe it or not, AT is too small, believe it or not, SS is a fine filler who gives it his all but not the 25 plus minute guy we need. Please do not tell me JP will be the savior at the 5 because again his size does not begin to address what a 5 should be.

Do you guys know how they fatten up Ducks for pate? That is what I'd do to AT, plus have him live in the weight room.

Well-- that's the thing though. Athletic, talented, big bodied 6'10+ guys don't come to places like BU unless we're lucky. Of course I want that thing, but I'd prefer a very athletic or very skilled undersized 6'7-6'9 center to a can't-get-on-the-court/run-the-floor/whatever-issue 7'1 guy. I think a couple of those guys-- think WE sized, rather than TB sized playing that 4 and 5 can be competitive enough.

The one thing I feel like we don't see often enough is that when the center is passing out of the high post that the other post player hasn't moved to a position near the basket.

Just to nitpick (sorry SFP), but I like SS, and I appreciate the effort and the thankless role he performs, but every time he steps on the court this season I groan. He's just not been effective at all this season... And I'd rather see AT get any of those minutes, for experience if nothing else. That IS one of the things that has continually bothered me about Les during his tenure, if a guard screws something up he gets to play through it. AT didn't dunk something he should have, and brought the ball down and turned it over in a short stretch versus Loyola and Les pulled him right away and he didn't see the floor again until what felt like the second half in the Iowa State game. Post players are going to make mistakes, but let's not make them tentative.

DSE is a point guard and a very good one at that.

                            Just a quick update.

Brandon Dunson, Dodie's younger brother that played at SIUE last season, has picked up a scholarship offer from Arizona State University!

Brandon tweets a lot about his status and offers....there's a link here plus some other BU followups...
