Better to have loved and lost than never loved at all?
I'd be okay with having an early verbal... as long as they dont back out late. Like a 2010 recruit changing his mind now -- THAT would drive me batty.
But a 2012 kid? Not much lost... except (the better) ISU had a chance to get a great kid. Just didn't pan out again this time. Maybe they'll hit on that concept once or twice?
I'm more confused as to how these kids are being contacted... I thought there were rules about how early they can do that? I admit to not being very knowledgeable on NCAA recruiting rules...

the Wesley Staten saga continues...
first he committed to Iowa State, then decommitted, the recommited...
now with the move by McDermott, he has decommitted from Iowa State a second time...and McDermott is trying to land the kid at Creighton...
But here are a few notes on Wesley Staten...
--first he's had a history of troubles..arrests dating back even into his junior high years..and a lot of reports that he's been a real problem for the basketball coaching staff where he was...
--then there have been numerous rumors & articles on issues at Sioux City West HS with his behavior problems...even leading to one coach threatened quitting...and Staten being suspended for the latter part of this past season.
--now he's transferred to another school with rumors that he was booted..smack dab in the middle of the Iowa State playoffs...so it must have been something pretty significant...
