  • MVC unveils 55-game TV package

The MVC will have 34 games on their own FoxSportsMidwest network, and an additional 21 games on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and CBS Sports.

Some of the games will also appear on FoxSports Indiana, FoxSports Kansas City, and ComcastSportsNet Chicago.

It sounds like there could be additional TV games if MVC teams reach finals of some of the tournaments they are in, and from BracketBusters games that will be determined in February.

By the way- for Comcast Digital HD customers in the Peoria area, FoxSports Midwest is now part of the high-definition channels. It is channel 959. Also, ESPNU is now part of many Comcast packages at channel 511.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that ESPN is going off the recent success of some of the MVC teams. Creighton, UNI, and Wichita State all have a lot. The first three look like the tournament Wichita is in, but other than that why would they have Wichita in so many games? Is it because they want to show a packed house? If they want that Carver seems to be a good place to do that. But Bradley's one game is AT UNI. Ugh

Breakdown of Games by Team (TBD games obviously not included):
    19 games
    Bradley - 1
    Creighton - 7
    Drake - 1
    Evansville - 0
    Illinois State - 3
    Indiana State - 0
    Missouri State - 2
    Northern Iowa - 6
    Southern Illinois - 4
    Wichita State - 8

Wow, that's a total of 10 Wichita State games.
There are 2 on the MVC Network on Comcast and FoxSports on 1/23 and 1/27-

      And there are 8 more on ESPN, ESPNS, and ESPNU, 11/15, 11/23, 11/24, 1/9, 1/16, 1/19, 1/31, and 2/14 -

It would be nice if Bradley could get half that much visibility on the ESPN networks. Maybe we can hope for a good BracketBuster matchup and get it on ESPN.

That means they would have to actually FIND Peoria in the state of Illinois!

Perhaps few ESPN games is OK. I do not think we have the best ESPN record lately..

Although I will setttle for another meager 50% 2-4 on CBS games (like 2006 )

This is huge, watching those blurry telecasts last year was a real challenge.

UNI also has one game on Fox College Sports (UNI at North Dakota). UND has a multi-game package with Fox College Sports where most of their home schedule is televised...in addition to a portion of their hockey matches.

UNI may also be on Fox College Sports 2 additional times if they win the opening round game in the Paradise Jam against DePaul. Against Tennessee and Purdue/Boston College.

Don't get your hopes up... IIRC, I have DirecTV and they games were not broadcasts in HD, even though it was on FoxSportsHD... hopefully that will change but it wasn't last year...

The only two MVC games that I have ever seen in HD were ISU/DU and ISU/UNI in the MVC Finals on CBS...

Even the ESPN games are not in HD... I guess they gotta use their "old" camera's on some games

hahaha... not the intention... I just figured you would rather be dissappointed now, then when you went to watch the first MVC game and expected it in HD... now you will be pleasantly surprised if they upgraded and they ARE in HD
