  • Break Out Year For AT?

First time I saw AT at BU (I think it might have been a Red-White game), I thought to myself, kid has good hands, long arms, gets up and down the court, and looked to have quick feet...add some weight and experience and presto, POB II

Now in his third year, "Insiders", any early hints AT may surprise us and have a modest "break out" this year with interior defense and rebounding....or are we still a year away with him as a redshirt junior/senior?

I always had the feeling WE was more of a 4 (seems to like baseline jumpers and moves around on offense vs back to the basket) AND the pair eventually would be good together on the floor

OR - Am I all wet

We gotta wait and see. But early reports are he's stronger, and less intimidated, and looks a lot better. He'll play more, and is rebounding well.

We'd be a pretty BIG team if we could play both of them.

I would love, just for the sake of seeing it, to see a lineup like this sometime: Dodie at the point (6'2?), AW at the 2 (6'5), TB at the 3 (6'6) WE at the 4 (6'9) and AT the 5 (6'10). Not saying this should be the lineup regularly... or ever, really... but it would be big!

To go along with what you said a little about AT having quick feet, he had/has some very good post moves during the r/w game.

After two seasons of nothing with No Injuries as a excuse, I think you are wet BUT hope you are dry by the end of the season

If AT can give us 15 mpg, 7 ppg, and 4 rpg we will be awesome, IMO.

I look for him to contribute a little more but next year will probably be his break out year. Let"s face it, he hardly played last season so he obviously still has a long way to go to be the kind of player we hope he will eventually be for BU.

AT could certainly add something to this team if he could block shots. We'll find out soon.

If he could give the Braves those stats in just 15 minutes he would deserve more playing time. Would be nice.

If he did that over 15 minutes per night he would be looking at a double double per game over 40 minutes and all MVC and wondering about going pro early. Approximently 16 points and 10 boards over 40 minutes.

7 points and 4 boards in 15 minutes a night is asking for alot from someone who has never played.

All I want from the 5 position nightly is between 16-12 points and 10+ boards. I think those numbers are pretty realistic between Prosser, Singh, Thompson and Egolf nightly.

If one of those or a combo of those 4 can step up and exceed that nightly even better.

I'm just hoping that AT can prove himself enough to see the floor on a nightly basis. Let's not get ourselves to far ahead here. He barely saw the floor last year and when we did it usually was not during any meaningful minute. Also let's not do the same thing with this year's freshmen big. Let it be a wonderful surprise if they can contribute consistently. I expect 10-15 mpg for SS and the bulk of the rest will go to WE at the 5. If AT can give us 5 mpg of active defensive ball I'll be satisfied.

Not me! JL set the bar and expectations too high when he compared AT to POB. I want more!

I see your point houston. But I think it's a lot easier to put up those numbers in limited minutes when you're fresh versus extrapolating over a whole game. JMO
