Lefty, thanks for a great article, I don't think much of his coach. But this kid has his head on straight and it always to hear about these kids.

As much as one can hate an "evil empire" like Kentucky (which I actually don't)... I'm sorta pulling for Patterson and the Wildcats.

I don't hate Kentucky, though I do hate Rupp, and I sincerely believe Calipari embodies everything that is wrong with college basketball. So I don't think I can bring myself to root for UK, despite Patterson's story.

There are cases why I root for a player(like Patterson) but not really caring about the team. Sounds like Patterson will have agreat future regardless of what he does....

This is a good story, and Patterson sounds like a really nice kid.

This kind of thing is one thing I like about the Bradley program. Bradley has always seemed to have great kids. When my kids were growing up, the players were always willing to sign an autograph or pose for a picture. My kids idolized Hersey Hawkins, and many of the BU players from that era and since. None of those guys were ever too busy to take time for the fans, and were truly great people. There might have been an exception or two from the Stan Albeck era, but other than that, I can say every BU player past and present that I have met were great kids.

I personally believe that is what college ball should be about. It has become too much of a money making, pro like event IMHO. Money corrupts and the corruption of scholastic achievements for sports in an educational setting just sends the wrong message to our future leaders. It's not like we have not seen enough greed and corruption to last a century this last decade. How about the Wooden Award go to the best player who also achieves the most for his community?

There is a reason I like Tebow, he tries to do the right things on and off the field.
