  • Dave Reynolds on Taylor Brown

"Another early morning for the Braves and me today at Haussler. I'm writing a notebook for the paper this weekend, but something you mentioned about TB's defense deserves a quick reply.
During today's 5 on 5 session, TB was everywhere defensively, stealing passes and wreaking havoc. If he continues to defend with that much inspiration -- along with his diverse offensive skills -- the sky's the limit for him. MK wasn't as noticeable today, but you're going to get that with freshmen. Nice kid, I visited with him briefly after the workout."

This may get removed from the board as I dont know the rules for posting from another board? But I had not seen this posted here and I think the comments about Taylor Brown should tell everyone his stock is going up, buy now!!!

This may have already been posted (or it cant be posted) but I had not read it on here.

I don't see why it can't be posted here.

I CAN understand why maybe Reynolds can't post (it) over here.

This doesn't surprise me at all. When the team got back from their trip to South America, I talked to a couple of them and they told me to watch Taylor. They said that he is just an absolute beast this year and they are convinced that he will end up in the NBA someday.

If TB can and is playing at this level and AW comes back strong tell me why we cant push for the MVC title? We have strong point guard play, we will have a pretty good combination in the post if WE can stay healthy. You have DD, CR and Milos that will contribute at the 3,4 spots. I still believe we will get some good minutes from JP in the 4,5 spots as well. I know I drink red kool aid but I think we have as good as chance as any other team in the MVC as long as we stay healthy..........

Mex- we've linked to stuff on other boards all the time...
(but some of those boards won't allow links or even references to BradleyFans... )

I have heard similar stories coming from others who have observed the players...mostly centering on their athleticism and shooting...things are sounding good, and we'll get a chance to see it soon.

I assume the end of the season for the Cardinals will allow Dave Reynolds to focus on the Braves.

I think Taylor Brown's performance in Brazil opened some eyes. It looks like he can score and rebound.

TB is a late bloomer but a natural talent...
two of his high school teammates got significant D-I looks but Taylor never got a sniff.
I am impressed with Coach Les' ability to find the kids like TB whose talent is way better than anyone had noticed. Sure, sometimes it doesn't pan out as with Saihou, but that's the chance you take in recruiting....

I think eveyone would agree, including pollsters, BU can be real good if TB/AW/WE play a full year to what we think their potential is. Getting production from AT, MK, and/or JP could make this a special year for BU. No Kool Aid needed.

Looking way forward, next season (2010) should be a done deal for BU. IF all the bigs pan out (AT/WE/TB as juniors, JP/MK/JW as sophmores), BU would be one of the few, if only, teams in the Valley with a lot of talented, experienced big men,to go with their good guards.
