  • Egwu to Illnois...

2011 6'10 prospect picks the illini over purdue...

  • #2
There are a lot of Illini fans who are surprised Illinois is always after big men who are so regularly described as "raw"...
this is how Cole, Simpson, Semrau, and even Tisdale were all described....
now Egwu......but a lot of people are quite high on Egwu's talents...
Again...Jerrance Howard does such a great job landing the instate talent...

Looks like Ilprepbullseye was wrong.....Egwu was down
to choosing between Illinois vs. Purdue and was ready to pull the trigger.
They just got done chiding other websites and saying Egwu was still considering other
options and wasn't ready to choose for a while...
They have now removed that article from their site and replaced it with one that
makes it sound like they knew Egwu would choose Illinois all along!

I can't believe after 6 years of Weber these types of recruits still surprise some, Gene Keady made a career out of these type of players.

Your right Murph. Brad Miller is one that comes to mine. Gene Keady, what a guy! My daughter went to Purdue and now works and teaches there. I have been to a lot of FB and BB games there. I use to love it when about the last two FF games of the year, the BB team had open scrimmages in Macky before the FB games and you could go inside and watch. Gene would be up in the stands joking and playing around with all the young kids there. They loved him there and still do. Class Act. just like Weber!

You are way too cool OOB. You won't, but don't ever change!
              Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™
