I agree, it's a very good idea.
The one thing I would change is to have lesser value runner-up rewards for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th place kids on down to maybe 10th place . That would spur even greater number of kids to keep coming and try to accumulate points. With only 1 top prize, once someone pulls ahead, and goes to all the games, others will give up and not bother to try to catch him.

If they want to take it a step further, I think alumni should get involved and 'sponsor' students for road games, etc. I'm not sure how alumni could be rewarded in any way other than seeing a new generation of BU backers be formed and having a direct hand student support, but I know it has gone on at other schools. I know I would sponsor student(s) to go to road games.Onward and Upward!
