  • Scheduling question

Hi all - long time no talk!

Quick question - Why aren't there any Saturday night home games this season? Personally, it's good for me being from out of town, but I was wondering if this was a conflict with the PCC or if Bradley requested it to be that way.

Thanks - keep up the good work! (This may have been discussed earlier in the preseason but I haven't had a chance to look at the board too often.)

I know Sat is very popular wih BCS teams, which makes it near impossible to get a quality officiating on Sat for a "lowly MVC" team.
The Valley has been trying to move from the traditional Sat / Wed (Wed is the obvious mid-week day to compliment a Sat game) schedule for that very reason.

I'm not sure if that is the only reason, though.

weren't the Pirates filling alot of those time slots, before they folded?

I did not think the Pirates started until April (I happened to go to their last game, was that June or July?) Whatever the start, their season was really late in comparison to b-ball.
I did not think there was any overlap, but perhaps our non-NCAA/NIT runs did?

I thought Elgin and others commented that it was purely because we are making a strong effort to hire the best refs we can... the unpopular days allow us to get the popular refs!

Last year there did not seem to be as much sliding effect on the floor from the ice. Did thet do something different or was the weather just more cooperative?

If I remember correctly, the Civic Center installed more A/C capacity a while back to try and keep the temps/humidity down in the arena.

Global cooling may have also helped last winter with fewer warm days during BB season
