  • I think it's probably better to not get involved in this thread, but I'm nothing if not occasionally stupid. So here goes: we need to put an end to 24-hour news channels. That's where the ridiculous drive to "do something" comes from in the media, I think. They have to find something to "do." Instead of just reporting on what's going on they editorialize everything to death and then present that as if it's the news. For me it doesn't matter which outlet we're talking about or their take on politics, it's the same problem for each of them with just a different editorial slant. We need to look no further than one of our local outlets who has the motto, "Making a Difference for You" to figure out they have the wrong idea.

Shouldn't have been too deep, but it looks like it was provoking.

I agree Beni. They only have a few liberal reporters..... News Babe Erin Burnett being the most prominent..... But I also think Cramer is a Libbie, too.

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

          • This is an interesting site and I don't agree with everything on it but it's always good to see how others view things and sometimes I think the same way. Check out the Bobby Knight rant and cover your kids ears-

National Debt and Deficit Portal. Bailout News. Federal Reserve Fraud & Corruption. Wall Street and Washington Corruption.

BTW, I've always thought BK is a jerk to put it politely.

                • What the hay? Shooting down helicopters? I bet this'll just make the Olympics committee cringe when they read this.

Be careful what you wish for IOC . Gotta love that last paragraph:

"Despite increased policing efforts, Rio remains one of the world's most dangerous cities. The violence generally is contained within slum areas, though it sometimes spills into posh beach neighborhoods and periodically shuts down the highway that links the international airport to tourist destinations."
