I agree to an extent, if real threats are made. But people are entitled to their opinions, no matter how wrong or offensive they are.
Since blogs are privately owned, how far does the government have a right to go? Should they also be able to police what you say in your own home then?

So private individuals who blog into their private blogs and do no harm to anyone are the same as terrorists who are avowed to attack the US, kill Americans, and bring down our government? Unbelieveable!

A private blog is absolutely no different than a private diary, or anything you say or write in the privacy of your own home. The government has no right to legislate what you say.

I do agree that if you promote violence, or threats against other citizens, then the government should be involved. That was the purpose of the Bush administration's actions, and the majority of Americans agree with it. But legislating opinions about products or reviews of a movie you've seen is unwarranted intrusion.

T, I am fine with domestic spying as long as it is done with court approval and within the legal limits of established laws! That check and balance is needed.

all -- I REPEAT ALL - governments spy within their own borders...it is an absolute necessity...
even when you enter at any border...they require you to submit and allow them to spy on your belongings and even on your own body...at times even making you takes clothes off....as has happened to family members of mine...
so maybe if you want to go to a country that is free from any form of spying....check out this place...
