This is really wierd. I'm anxious to hear what the "real" reason is.

Too bad they can't get the PJS to get the story straight for everyone.

It would somehow be the fault of Jim Les' renegade program....

I've always liked Crews. There has got to be more to this story....

more on the firing...nobody seems to know why the guy was canned....sounds like a little suspicion...
also.."Iowa State assistant Daniyal Robinson of Iowa State" (where's he from?) is a candidate

There is some speculation this opens the door for Bobby Knight to return to West Point as either coach or AD.

What are the chances Bobby Knight would want to take over Army, a program with next to zero chance of ever being above .500?
Even if he hired Donald Trump to negotiate, he'd at best get a deal for $200,000 per year, about 20% of what he's making now.
IMO the chance of this happening are small.

I disagree. This would be a perfect "legacy closer" for Knight; nowhere to go but up. He doesn't need the money. Time will tell.....

that's what they said about Texas Tech...he was going to make them a winner, nowhere to go but up.
He did OK a couple years with the previous coach's players, then started to slide, winning mostly just their cupcake non-conference games.
If he can takes Army over and makes a consistent winner, then I will mow Grassman's lawn for a year...

That would be a "KODAK" moment, but I will not hold my breath for either to happen.
Crews had not had sucess at ARMY, however, the timing is an issue

Bobby Knight actually got Crews the job at Army. It seems unlikely he'd take steps to get Crews fired, although with Bobby you never really know.
