  • Indiana State going on preseason tour

In the news story that accompanies the release of Indiana State's schedule, they mention a few other pieces of info.

The Sycamores go to Canada over the Labor Day weekend for three games. They begin practices today.

Also, one of their key returning players, starting center Jay Tunnell, injured his left knee and will have surgery Friday. It is not known what extent the injury involves and whether Jay will be ready to play when the season begins.

Tunnell was selected to the All-Freshman Team last year in the Valley and was arguably the best returning player Indiana State has.

He has had knee surgery before, and there is talk over on the Indiana State message board by people who know Jay, saying this injury is more serious and that Tunnell may miss the entire season. Here is one clip.
