Anyone getting nervous???

very, very few of the mid-majors fill all their recruiting slots this early....that's just the way it is...
we have one verbal for 2010, and have a couple scholarships to fill......
I'd rather have it well thought out and get them filled with quality than rush to fill with some disgruntled transfer like Fears...

I'm with T on this one. Who says we have to use all 3 this year! I say quality over quantity at this point in time where the program is. Can you imagine the quality JL will recruit once the facilities are in place."Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Iam fully confident that we will end up with 2 good recruits to go along with John Wilkins , with the talent we have now there is no reason to be in any hurry and for any players that are thinking about playing for BU I would advise doing so now because the next several years look to be very special and you better not miss out on this opportunity of a lifetime.

There in lies the recruiting challenge for BU...With a loaded roster for the next couple of years, and assuming Wilkens and Harris arrive, it would take a pretty good player to go to BU and break into the starting lineup before their junior year.
I am assuming players with that degree of ability/skill would have offers from major programs, or, have the ability to go to other mid majors and start as a freshman/sophmore. I don't know if the BU program is to a point of annual success/exposure where top talent will come here knowing they have to beat out other good players right away, or, wait several years, to play much.
BU may have to find recruits who are ok with possibly not starting/playing a lot in years 1-2 (with a possible redshirt), but who still have the type of talent we want to see BU players have (or the talent to grow).BUilding for the Future

It's all a cycle. Once you have good players, you can do well. When you do well, you can get better caliber players... and on and on. You stay in the higher up circle. But getting that first set of "great" players in order to push the team to a new level is the tough part. That's the part I think we have going on right now. And the team sounds like its getting there

I think BU will find what they are looking for with their last few scholies. It might be a role player; it might be a stud. Whatever the coaches see as the best fit.

BU doesn't have the recent record of any of the schools you mentioned where a top recruit knows he can compete for playing time right away, and if he doesn't make it, know the program will win confernce, go to NCAA/NIT, get on tv etc until he gets a chance. Now, if BU achieves the consistency of the teams you brought up, top recruits will want to go their and try themselves against what they perceive as the best.
I still think BU is in a tough position right now to get 2-3 more top tier recruits until they achieve some more consistent success...I'd like to think there are fewer players out there who could beat out the players we have on our roster, or coming on board, who would consider playing at BU vs Major Conferences or top tier Mid Majors. Hence the challenge.
Didn't say it would be impossible to find these players, but think the staff at BU will be challenged...All the recruits I have read about so far on this site have chosen to go elsewhere...BUilding for the Future

I suspect you know he is not, thus "eligible" or not (and there was talk that he'd stay and be back on scholarship in 2009-2010) he didn't hang around and would have had to pack his bags, right??Originally posted by tornado View Postbut he was recruited there, unpacked his stuff, then packed it back up and went elsewhere when he found he was not going to get a scholarship.
To quote Lee Corso..."NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND"... looks like he will be "re-packing" those bags to come BACK to ISU...
