  • Bradley Basketball in The Community

My Kiwanis group does a pancake breakfast several times a year at Trewyn Grade School and always have special guests or speakers. This morning, as we were preparing the sausage and pancakes, a large group of BU men's and women's basketball players came in.

I didn't recognize all of them from my vantage point, but did see Dodie and Sam Singh among the group.

To get 10 or so college kids up and out doing community work at 7am is a great sight! They were gonna greet the kids and talk with them at a mini-assembly after breakfast.

    Great job ladies and gents!
???We all want Bradley to win. If our methods and visions for that are different, then so be it. Don't ever attempt to tell me I am not a fan!???

Thanks for that report as it seems we never hear the positive side of things, only the negative side...

I know someone who is a WWII vet and will be going on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. soon. Part of the Veteran's special day will be getting a surpise packet of letters thanking them for their service. The Bradley Basketball team was asked if they wanted to participate in this letter writing campaign, and I received a letter from each and every player to put into the packet. What a great bunch of guys, taking time to do this....and with knowing not many people would even find out about it....they did it anyway. They are top notch kids! I was very impressed by their giving spirit.

These are a special group of young men, no doubt. Coach Les also has to be given credit for keeping them involved in the community. One of my favorite community events involving the BU team, was The Race with Versace. It was quite a sight to see the Cedar St bridge blocked off on a Sunday afternoon and all of a sudden Coach Versace, his staff and the BU team with thousands of others come over the crest of the hill of the bridge. Gave me goosebumps.
What part of illegal don't you understand?
