  • Something funny on the ISU Athletics Page

Ok...maybe its not all that funny. But you'd think somebody over there could have done a better job picking a picture of the crowd than what they did.

One of the ISU "fans" has a Georgia hat on...I'd hope the folks at bradleybraves.com would be smart enough to look at the picture before they put it up and to only include fans wearing BU gear/colors

That particular guy also looks like he has no clue whats going on in the game he is watching - or has a serious distaste for whats going on.

    Just a funny pic.

I thought you were talking about this:

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

NORMAL, Ill. - The partnership between Illinois State Athletics and Comcast Spotlight has been enhanced for the 2009-10 season, as the telecasts will be distributed to approximately 1.5 million Comcast subscribers in Illinois, including the entire Chicagoland area.

I thought this was funny, considering the redbirds have made consecutive NIT appearances and have won 24 games each of the last two years.

Speaking of student support, I see that Red Alert has had a pretty significant dropoff in numbers. The price increase might be a factor, but membership is down almost half from what it was a year ago...
???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

That's a good deal for ISU.
Look for Bradley to announce some good news about their telecasts soon, too.

I only posted that because I, along with a handful of others (5-6 people) started Red Alert in '05. From there, we increased membership to the biggest RSO on campus, hitting it's peak last year at around 5K. Now theres under 3K. Granted, (and obviously) not all members go to games, but the student section was packed for every game, and had significant numbers for break games too, the last 3 years. I'm hoping that continues and the decrease in overall membership won't reflect on actual game attendance by students. In other words, I'm hoping the ones who did join will care and go to games.

I understand and those numbers are great. I wish Bradley had an overflowing student section at each and every game, but that's not always possible with having an off-campus arena. Not much of an excuse for the price of a student ticket, but it would be great if the students could just walk across the street to the game!

No excuse, the bars on Farmington Road aren't on campus either, and there are usually no buses to take them there and get them back safely.
What part of illegal don't you understand?

I know, but it WOULD be easier and there WOULD be more students at every game if they could walk across the street to the game.

It's hardly fair to compare the two. Lets talk percentage of students that go to the games. I bet BU does, better than IU, despite the on campus arena. I have no facts to back that up, but i'm sure someone won't take long to find it if they care.

For the size of BU the support it receives is amazing. We graduate 4-5x less students per year than ISU, and our attendance at games is higher, and BU alum seem to be generally more involved. I guess my point is when comparing ISU and BU, shear numbers isn't really a fair comparison.
