Had this happened during the season, I could see a one game suspension. Considering we're still months away, I'd be very surprised if his punishment (whatever it is) isn't over long before the season begins.

Why shouldnt he bring up the other schools, their indisgressions and how those schools handled the penalties for issues their basketball players were involved in? Sure BU has had issues but I find it interesting to see the various issues ISU, SIU etc have had and how they handle discipline.

And if Torando didnt bring up the issues it is likely no one ever would bring the issues to light.

I don't have a problem if T or for that matter anyone else bringing up issues of other schools and how they handed out discipline to their players. But in no way should /what these schools did, be a outline or be guidelines to how BU handles its players. I'm sure Jim Les would NEVER use this approach in handing out discipline to one of his players.
When growing up, when us 5 kids did something wrong (and there was plenty of times) mom NEVER called around the neighborhood to ask the other moms what they did to discipline Johnie or Susie or how they would handle us! She had her own way of bringing the heat on us and she could of give a F__K about how they were handled or not! We were family just as BU is and any troubles was handled in our house by the head of it our (MOM).
JL will handle TB issue and it will have to be done in a way that it sends a strong/right message to all the players that what he did was wrong and will not be tolerated! If he blows this off as just a college fight then what happens the next time and the next time?

Couldn't agree more. In season I am sure there would be a game suspension or two. This far away .. a game's suspension makes no sense.

Quite possibly the worst Bears game i've seen in my 15 years watching the Bears full time. I didn't think it could get any worse than Orton or Grossman LOL. Well hopefully my fantasy teams keep me interested this season.

My GF wanted to turn off the game after GB scored that last TD and I said no because the Bears have another QB this year and they have a much better chance. Well she said that the Bears s$ck and there is no way they will pull it off. I guess she was right!

I find it amusing that anyone would think that Taylor would be suspended for any exb. or scrimmage game let alone a regular season game, this is a matter where guys will be guys and it happens all the time, he does need to control himself as he represents BU but lets not make such a big deal out of such a minor incident.

Exactly! This was a confrontation between two college kids from different schools that resulted in a "split lip". Not to mention the kid with the split lip came to the Bradley campus and just happened to find his way to the school-sponsored party that TB was attending. It doesn't sound to me like the nameless kid was nearly as "intimidated" by TB as the newspaper made it sound. I hope the discipline is appropriate for the incident and TB doesn't miss any games; scrimmage, exhibition, or otherwise.

If he sits for DePaul or possibly DePaul & Lewis then he will have served 2 games MORE than all the penalties combined that the two DUI's at ISU served, PLUS the two DUI's and the several underage drinking arrests at SIU plus the arrest there for destroying property at the Carbondale police office.

But - having said that, I will leave it to the staff who have done quite fine to this point without my help.

I dont know about the ISU suspensions but SIU suspended Tatum for both his DUI and when he broke a window at the carbondale police department, I think he got one game for the window and three for the DUI, Boyle was also suspended a game for his underage drinking as was the tall skinny kid they had playing for them foster i think his name was, i dont remember why he got suspeneded just that he did

The three games that Tatum got suspended for were the two exhibition games and the season opener against a D3 squad. Tony Boyle & Jamaal Foster also missed an exhibition game at that time. I can see Taylor Brown missing the exhibition game as well.

how can you say that? tatum saw penalties for his actions, the game he was supsended for the police department thing was a valley game against indy state?

Tatum was never arrested for battery while at SIU

OK this thread should be locked up now because this is getting a little over the top. What TB did was no where close to a DUI or any of those other things attributed other athlete's. TB should not be suspended for any of our games at this point, PERIOD IMO. The punishment should fit the crime. I'm done with this thread and any other one that discusses TB's situation. I hope he learned his lesson and the guy who did not belong on campus never steps on it again.
