  • Boys to Men

Here is a list of the players who are presently enrolled and likely to play this season at Chicago Boys to Men Academy, under coach Loren Jackson.

    Player, Ht., position, (Class)

Nyal "Mac" Koshwal 6-9 PF (2007)
    Jeremiah Kelly 6-1 PG (200
    Marcus Relphorde 6-6 SG (2007)
    Angel Garcia 6-10 C (200
    David Sanchez 6-9 F (2007)
    Jelani Poston 6-6 SF (200
    Tim Bains 6-6 G/F (2007)
    Raymond Sims 6-0 PG (2007)
    Michael Glover 6-6 SF (2007)

    And one new name....
    Calrence Holloway 7-0 C (2007)
Holloway actually was Class of 2005, and finished his IHSA eligibility at Chicago Harlan, then was recruited to play at Louisville. He didn't make it academically, so he went lastyear to IMG Academy (a Florida prep academy).
Now he has reclassified again as a senior, Class of 2007 and will play one more year at BTMA.

    Wow, you gotta read this.
The people who write for ilprepbullseye really rip into Boys to Men, and call them just about
every bad thing short of wearing army boots.

But a little background is needed to get a feel for why this article and this timing.
Over the past several weeks they have been calling everyone else liars, and crazy and
claiming that Jelani Poston would not end up at Boys to Men.

Well, guess where Poston is attending classes right now, Boys to Men.
That kinda puts egg on their faces, so they assuage their egos by ripping into the whole prep school thing.

So far, not one Boys to Men player has played a minute of college basketball, so I guess the jury is still out.
Interesting stories, and here is another one.

The longer it drags out, the greater the chances are of that trend continuing with our B2M recruit.

Jackson also notes that 7-0 former Chicago Harlan star Clarence Holloway is on board. Holloway, who originally signed with Louisville out of high school, last year played at IMG Academy in Florida. Holloway actually put his name into consideration for the 2006 NBA draft before pulling out, and deciding on Boys To Men.

6-0 point guard Raymond Sims from Philadelphia Roman Catholic is enrolled as a post graduate student, and is expected to play a significant role this year. "He already has several east coast Division I programs recruiting him", said Jackson
Sounds like their focus is on academics . This place is a joke. Has XC been cleared to play for BU?

Some more Boys to Men news.

Here is a Chicago Trib article about one of the top Chicago Public League players transferring to Boys to Men.

DePaul/scout reports Mac Koshwal is visiting DePaul and Tennessee shortly and has narrowed his choices to
USC, Illinois, Tennessee, LSU, Louisville, and DePaul.
DePaul is said to be the leader.

The Tennessean reports Koshwal will visit for the weekend that Tennessee football plays Florida.

Now it is being reported that Angel Garcia, highly touted 6-10 forward is not going to attend Boys to Men.
Not sure what the situation is, but stories about Garcia changing schools have been appearing for two years on the boards.
