its EXACTLY why we should not cast stones at others (programs) for DUI's...speeding tickets...no valid drivers licsense's or anything else.
NO program is immune from this stuff and, quite frankly, BU has had MORE then thier fair share of this unacceptable type behavior.

I am sure Taylor Brown was more then likely pushed to the limit by whomever this other person was and retaliated by punching him, this stuff happens on the floor during NCAA games and no one gets arrested , the other person must be a real tool for getting the police involved for a split lip, now if Taylor had continued to beat on him until he had to go to the hospital then it would be a different story, I know the BU athletes are held to a higher standard and should not be making the news in this sort of manner but sometimes a person can only take so much crap before he retaliates , I will wait to hear the other side of the story before I pass any judgement .

He punched a guy in the face who may have deserved it.
The report comes basically just from the one guy's complaint..his side of the story...
I know TB and had he really punched a guy in the face, the guy's face wouldn't just have a split lip, trust me.
I agree completely that TB is held to a higher standard and should have done what it takes to avoid this kind of incident, but I love his passion and he needs to learn to channel it into productive efforts...
I suspect TB will learn from the discipline imparted, which by the way will likely be considerably more substantial that what DUI's and underage drinking violations at a few other schools have gotten, namely the kids were allowed to practice and play the very next day, and never disciplined at all.

TB has already apologized, because a lot will be made of this minor incident. And he will be disciplined, Coach JL has already said so.
But what is with the newspaper? This happened early Sunday morning. Many people knew about it Sunday. Then in the newspaper Friday, 5 days later, it is reported as if it is the Super Bowl results! It is the top, headline article on the front page of the Sports section, complete with picture.
This belongs at the bottom of page 3 or 4, if at all. From PJ Star sports expert Kirk Wessler in his Jan. 10, 2012 column following 8th loss in a row at Drake-
"Yes, the Braves are better than they were when the season started two months ago. By a light year or two, they??™re better."
And from the PJ Star 4/26/12, Dave Reynolds-
"Fields and Grier both appear to be difference makers. If Bradley continues to add the right players around them, happy days may be ahead for the Braves after a long dry spell."

Apologize to his coach and teammates for not being above this? Yes.
Disciplined for violating team rules by getting arrested? Yes.
Should this carry over into a season that's still 2 months away from starting? No.Onward and Upward!

Originally posted by BradleyBrave View PostHmm. Well, it's a true sign of the times where charges are pressed after two college kids get in a fistfight. It used to be if someone had something to say to someone, you settle it outside and it's over and done with. No cops, no nothing. I guess that's not the case anymore. In a strange way, shouldn't we be happy that they fought with fists and not guns, and someone didn't seriously get hurt, shot, or killed? Oh well. I don't think of Taylor Brown any differently than I did before this happened. He didn't fail a drug test, pass out drunk in his car, or hit a girl. He punched a guy in the face who may have deserved it.
Also, it wouldn't be Bradley Basketball season without some sort of drama, now would it?
I would normally agree with this... fights happen all the time when cops are not called. However, if the PJS is accurate in their reporting that TB was at this guys place of work (Macy's) and making threatening "gestures" to him at a BU soccer game, I could see why the police were called for one fight.
Like I said, who knows how accurate it is... but if someone came to my place of work and stared at me and made other threats at a public place like a soccer game, I might be a little worried as well. If this person that had been doing these things to me then hit me and split my lip, the cops would definitely be called...
