  • BU has one more player on the roster

    Charonn Woods is walking on...

if you check his Maxpreps page, you'd start to wonder if he's maybe gonna contribute...
    " 6' 9" guard - 20.4 ppg 6.2 ppg, 5.4 rpg"

    huh?? a 6-9 guard???...but it's a typo...he's actually just a little shorter than that but is a PG

    Here's some video.....looks a little like a DRuff clone

Woods is currently listed as #0 on the roster

Dave Reynolds mentions Charron Woods at the bottom of his updated article about the schedule in today's PJ Star.-

        hmm....

by looking at the bu roster, looks like the new kid is a redshirt freshman instead of walkon as reported by PJSTAR, i wonder which listing is correct.

Charonn Woods G 5-10 165 RFr. St. Louis, Mo. (Metro Academic & Classical H.S.)
Will Egolf F/C 6-9 233 RSo. Juneau, Alaska (Douglas H.S.)
Andrew Warren G 6-5 203 RJr. Indianapolis, Ind. (Brebeuf Jesuit Prep)

what do they all have in common "R" in front of year.

So maybe he has been at Bradley for the past year, and this is his 2nd year?

            ok..

new info needs to be uncovered on this prospect, only Bradleyfans can get. How does bradley have a redshirt pg on campus for 1 year with not 1 mention here or anywhere ? How does a kid from the class of 2008 get listed as a walkon in the PJSTAR? How does a kid get listed on the official bradley site as a redshirt freshman, when was not listed at all last year?

He was not a part of the Bradley team last year. Redshirt players can practice with the team, and participate in most team activities, so if he was part of last year's team we would have known it.

I do have a little bit more from a private source...
Charron Woods has indeed been at Bradley since the fall of 2008, and not only taking classes, but acing them...
this kid is smart and has been a Dean's List student his entire first year...but missed playing ball and inquired about walking on.

Here is a picture of him

Good for the kid. I hope he loves colleges, gets great grades as he has done, has a lot of fun, graduates and has a successful career. Sorry, but no basketball excitement here about another very short guard. He is giving up a lot of study time and possible better grades by taking this step. I hope he has made the right move for himself. Good luck to you and all the dedicated walk-ons.

Charon was a manager last year. You may have seen him at games but did not notice. Great kid too.

He is very skilled. I think his only limit is his size. Very fast. great ball handling.

That's too bad. I mean taking considerable time away from studies that is. Can't help it, it's my job.

Most college kids take considerable time from their studies pursuing other not so healthy endeavors or chasing skirts. At least he will be in a very healthy environment.
