  • SIU Releases Their Full Schedule

well, sort of...as many of the games are still not precisely set...such as the BU game IN Carbondale, which is stated as Jan. 19-20.

But note their non-conference slate...(they also have Jamar Smith and his Southern Indiana squad comnig as an exhibition)
UT-Martin, (D-II) Indianapolis U., UNLV (part of MVC/MWC Challenge), UIC, Saint Louis, SEMO, Alabama State, San Diego, San Francisco, Western Ky. (repay for BB).

They are taking a cue from Illinois State, as they don't have a single opponent from a major conference (the six BCS/major conferences - B10, BE, ACC, SEC, B12, P10)

wow--- I am really discouraged at how badly it appears all the Valley teams are scheduling!

MSU appears to have their non-conference part done, they play Arkansas

Drake plays Iowa & Iowa State and I suspect UNI does also

    Creighton plays Nebraska & Dayton

I see a SWAC school in there. I am properly angered.

Do all the Iowa Division 1 schools have to schedule against each other in some type of time frame? I remember reading something a while back.
I fully admit that I don't know how accurate this is. fwiw
      Bradley 72 - Illini 68 Final

???It??™s awful hard,??™??™ said Illini freshman guard D.J. Richardson, the former Central High School guard who played prep school ball a few miles from here and fought back tears outside the locker room. ???It??™s a hometown thing. It??™s bragging rights.??™

I think UIC was SIU's BB game last year, i think they have played western KY for several years now

          here's a real eye-opening factoid...

I was looking at Saint Louis' schedule...and roster
They actually had a decent team last year with two senior all-conference players (Lisch & Liddell), but what's going to happen this year?
After numerous players getting run off...check what they have left on their roster...

--12 scholarship players and one walk-on (Banchy)
          --SEVEN true freshman
--one redshirt freshman (John - recovering from knee surgery) plus four true sophomores (incl. sharpshooter Kyle Cassity who only hit on 23% of his 3-pointers)
--one junior (Eckerle - who tore his ACL and probably won't play this year)
--NO seniors, and they return less than half of their minutes, scoring, and rebounding.

Can RickMa and Porter Moser do anything with such inexperience?

St. Louis will struggle mightily this year, and I wouldn't be surprised if Rick Majerus gets frustrated with the losing and figures he doesn't need the aggravation, and quits after the season.
