NCAA just ruled on violations at Georgetown...
26 athletes got more than $61,000 in cash payments, and excess pay/impermissible benefits...
In other words, they were paid cash for doing nothing!
and the coaches were ruled to have been truly negligent in this...
Georgetown admits they are guilty, and NCAA hammers them with........
probation, some lost scholarships, and vacate their wins.no actual penalties whatsoever against the current program such as post season bans or tournament restrictions.
By the way....Abilene Christian, a small DII had violations that were insignificant compared to $60,000 in cash payments to the Georgetown players, and yet Abilene gets a penalty that's every bit as severe as what Georgetown got!...even the monetary fine!
