Super prep guard Jeff Teague, of Indianapolis Pike, still had listed SIU as one of his finalists. As recently as last week, he listed SIU, Indiana, Wake, Boston College, and Xavier.
Here is an article from 8/14 where he lists those schools. http://wakeforest.scout.com/2/556798.html (premium article)
But he must have just eliminated the Salukis, thus freeing up this scholarship for Wood. His scout profile was just changed to show SIU with low interest now in Teague.
Will he play behind Josh Bone? Lowery obviously likes to have multiple off-guards to run his offense.
bone is on this year's team. wood will be on next's years team .siu loses both tatum and young after this season. translation. they both could play alongside mullins in a three-guard lineup along with shaw and falker with fay coming off the bench or one could be the sixth man with fay starting. probably depends on well bone is this year and fay & wood are next.

Yes, I know that. But they will be playing on the same team for 3 years. I thought they sounded like similar players.
This kid is a little different than every guard they have recruited in the past several years. He isn't a very good shooter. His shooting stats show that he only shot 32.8% from 3-point range last year, and he shot a lot of them. Usually SIU wants their guards to be good 3-point shooters. This kid doesn't appear to be.
Commonly kids who shoot over 50% on 3-pointers at the high school level, don't do nearly as well when they get to D-I.
Defenses are just that much better.
Colin Falls of Wilmette Loyola, shot 51% on 3's his senior year and then was recruited by Notre Dame.
(that's the 5th highest season pct. in all of IHSA since 2001)
They even run offenses just for him, and last year as a junior at UND, he shot 39%.

is there anything you don't know? they are not the same type of players. odds are wood will redshirt.
So they are nearly exactly the same size, and play the exact same position. I see a lot more similarities than differences in these 2 kids. They were both recruited exclusively by midmajors, both committed to SIU. Their high school stats were similar-
Josh Bone as a senior averaged 15 ppg, and 4 assists per game (he played with a McDonald's All American center on his team)--
Brandon Wood as a junior reportedly averaged 19 ppg, and 4 assists per game--
And their last names have only 4 letters each.
Heck, I think they even look a little like each other-- but what do I know'
Brandon Wood is pictured in the center, holding the ball-
relax coach, was just a little sarcasm. frankly i don't know anything about bone or wood. never seen either play so hey they could be like identical twins as far as i know. either sam and/or ruff will tear them up.
