How's the BYU Coach doing? Isn't he the one with the Liver or Pancreatic cancer? Been a few months since anyone has mentioned it and I know that type can move fast.
The type of cancer he had was not a typical pancreatic cancer (95% are adenocarcinoma which has a very poor prognosis), but one that has usually got a much better prognosis (he had a neuroendocrine cancer which has a good prognosis if caught early). He had it removed with emergency surgery, and he is in a complete remission.
For the past 12 years, Dave and Cheryl Rose have given a great deal of time to the Children with Cancer Christmas Foundation. Now Dave can relate to these children even more since he was diagnosed with cancer last month.
Man that's a great story, got some great docs there. I think he got pretty lucky that the symptoms came on very strong as I believe most prancreatic symptoms are prolonged over 1-2 weeks or longer. Sounds like he's in good shape now.
