Creighton's Anthony Tolliver was one of the top players this season at the Pete Newell Big Man's Camp, just like Patrick O'Bryant was last year.
Read what they say about him:
"Among a consensus of the NBA types and camp instructors, some of the standouts during the Aug. 7-11 sessions included Anthony Tolliver..."
The 6-foot-9, 245-pound Tolliver (13.2 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.6 blocks per game as a junior) and guard Nate Funk are two reasons why, this season, the Bluejays could at least equal the post-season success that fellow Missouri Valley Conference members enjoyed last March when Bradley and Wichita State won a couple of NCAA Tournament games apiece."
In other MVC news, Wichita State has begun a 10 day period of daily basketball practices, in preparation for a trip to Canada in the preseason for three games.
New WSU players freshman forwards J.T. Durley, Chris Brown, Arbry Butler, guard Gal Mekel, and junior forward Phil Thomasson, who sat out last season as a transfer should all get to play.
Here is their schedule for the Canada games:
Sat., Sept. 2 -
12 pm - WSU vs Simon Fraser University @ Chancellor's Gym, Burnaby, B.C.
7 pm - WSU vs Trinity Western @ Columbia Place, Abbotsford, B.C.
Sun., Sept. 3 -
10 am - WSU vs University of British Columbia @ War Memorial Gym, Vancouver, B.C
