Jake healed and lifting with no restrictions.....DSE just about fully healed and set to be turned loose. JL wishes (no kidding) that the freshman would be eligible to go. I mean why not..they ARE part of the team and what a great chance to get up to speed.
Here is what Coach Les said about the freshmen-
???I felt bad they couldn??™t go. There should be concessions allowed for freshmen to go on trips like this. It would be a great way to get acclimated to (a team??™s) system."
But that is exactly why the NCAA doesn't allow freshmen to take these trips. The NCAA doesn't want to give a team like Bradley more unfair advantage over other teams by getting this early extra time to work freshmen into their system.
There has been discussion by the NCAA about ending these preseason trips altogether, and I suspect with the economy issues, now they'll have even more incentive to ban these trips.
They should just give schools who choose not to go on the trips the 10 days of early practice when their time comes up. That way it wouldn't be that much unfair for schools with any financial challenges.
