That Monday date is actually three days before finals start, so that Monday date actually makes sense from that point of view.

The opponent makes me wonder though. This could be a bad sign that the "wait and let the BCS come to you" approach isn't working this year.

Or could that opponent indicate we have a date with a BCS or higher profile team and we just haven't finalized the details yet... so we filled another game with an easier opponent (sorta rounding out the schedule - 1 easy and 1 tough).

..or its just tough to get a good schedule as a school of our size/caliber, and while we may be willing to do one-and-dones, its not always possible. Now we're filling it because a game against Western Carolina is better than no game

I'm taking the wait and see approach on this one. This year's schedule overall is pretty good when you look at the complete schedule. I do feel for the season ticket holders, so far. The BYU, Iowa State, the Vegas Tourney and perhaps UNI working their way to a top 25 team will be a tough task ahead for us.

Without getting ahead of myself I wonder who will be working the phones for next year's schedule.

Has our local TV deal been announced? our NBC affiliate would probably only have to bump infomercials for a Sun afternoon game, and baskeball could be a decent lead-ins to Sunday Night football...

I'm with you jeffsu. College basketball tickets are probably the very best value of any form of entertainment, IMO. You'd pay the same price for season tix that someone would pay to go to a handful of NBA games.

Of course, this still does not excuse Bradley's suckee schedule.

This mabe a reflection on not having a notable AD in place to make phone calls with the proper contacts to get these games lined up, then not many BCS teams will come to play in Peoria so we need to look at other options, George Mason would make for a nice home and home series, we need to look more at the bracket buster teams that have been good over the last several years and try to get home and home series with them.
The only good thing that could come out of playing some of these teams on our home schedule is that are freshman should get an opportunity to get more minutes which might help in getting them more prepared to contribute during the Valley season.

I agree as well. Hopefully the people that choose not to use their tickets for any of these home games take advantage of the Ticket Exchange Forum. I'm sure there are people that would enjoy sitting in those seats for a game or two.

Truthfully, the games everyone is griping about could be worse. A LOT worse, IMO.

I actually would've been OK if we didn't fill the last two dates, but I'll take WCU.

Idaho State is a rising program out of the Big Sky. While that may not be saying much, they are well coached, should be a threat to win the Big Sky this year, and offer a very fascinating defensive style that will be a treat to see on-hand. They will create a lot of problems for BU, and I think if ISU wins the Big Sky the NCAA Selection Committee will recognize them as a difficult team to schedule.

As for WCU, they, like Wofford finished with a winning record and could be a pleasant surprise out of the SoCo. Even though Davidson and Chattanooga have stolen the headlines last year, there are some above average basketball teams from that league. And we are playing two of them.

Still no defense for playing at NIU, but they like everyone else on our schedule for the most part, have gone out and put together very good schedules that should help us.

As I've said before, this actually might be the best schedule JL has put together.

Presbyterian and maybe Loyola are the only teams I would project to be significantly under .500. Everyone else should be within 2 games of .500 or above. Add that to what should be a very high OppOpp win% and that is a very good thing.

Yeah, I agree squirrelgotdead. This schedule could yield a very good RPI... if we can win a couple of the big games as signature wins and do well in the conference schedule it could be a good recipe for an at-large.

I won't argue the computer profile that this schedule will generate. It will be good.

The casual fan will hate it a lot more because the home games will be bad to them. They don't know enough to realize how strong the schedule actually is.

It should be crystal clear that ANY complaining about the schedule is in terms of entertaining fans at home games, not about the strength of the schedule.
