There is only ONE scheduled home (non-con) game known so far...and we are ready to throw away our tickets and jump out a window?
The Wofford & Presbyterian games are part of the tourney we accept in order to get those other two top games...so that's a given...we didn't go out and schedule them, but yet they are no different from what Illinois or IU has at home early in the season...
(Illinois also hosts Wofford & Presbyterian, while IU hosts Bryant, SC-Upstate, Loyola of MD, and Howard)
we've been fortunate to see Michigan State, Iowa State, DePaul, and numerous other BCS opponents here in Peoria, and I trust our guys are doing the best they can to schedule as well as they can despite the complaints.

I'm sure it's not for lack of trying that our home non-con isn't more exciting.
Besides, there are a few more games left to schedule, so maybe JL will pull a rabbit out of his hat.
In future years, I'd be very happy to see some good mid-major opponents come to Carver. VCU, ODU, etc.

BU Schedule
Once again, scheduling must be controlled and managed by the AD who, hopefully, has very good D1 networking contacts and a strong D1 basketball background of experience. Cetainly, the coach should work closely with the AD on this but scheduling should remain the ADs responsibility. Most coaches will not agree with this since they want to control scheduling for all of the obvious reasons. In past years, some coaches at BU have tried to put the responsibility for scheduling in their contracts but fortunately this was turned down by the AD. While I agree that this years home schedule's apparent weakness is probably an anomaly, I wonder how much affect our not having a qualified AD has had on this situation.

Sorry - but someone has to say it.......
We need a full time AD if we expect to be respected by other programs...
someone in that position needs to develop STRONG relationships with the AD's elsewhere so we can get the scheduling done.
this delay in getting games done and this difficulty in getting quality opponents is directly caused by the loss of Ken Kavanagh...and the absence of anyone filling his shoes.
The fault does NOT lie with the Athletic Department.

Scheduling & the AD
Tornado---I couldn't agree with you more! Not having a full time AD thru the Summer has to have had a detrimental affect in a number of areas, especially in scheduling. Let's hope we get someone before the BB season begins!

Is scheduling rough? Sure. Is that caused by a lack of an AD? We'll never know. Though it's clear many of you that you already have pointed your fingers and feel better doing so. Was KK great? Seems like it. Is the world ending because we'll have a very capable interim for a year and then a full-time person (potentially one and the same)? Come on guys.

I'm not throwing my tickets away but I am starting to wonder just how much their face value is and if I over paid for them or just got my butt ripped off I paid to see the Braves play and against quality opponents

A couple things off the top of my head......
I guess isu hasn't had a full-time AD the past few years as their schedule would indicate.
Also, there are other options for tickets.....Bradley does offer the Mini-Pack (8 MVC home games - excluding illinois state).
This is the first year I've had any sort of season tickets and I went with the Mini-Pack. I will most definitely be in line the morning of Nov. 2 buying tickets to the isu game and any other non-con games that my schedule will allow me to see.???People say, ???Forget last year', but I want our guys to remember that one, because that will not happen again. We will be much better.??? Geno Ford, 9/22/12

This AD situation has been bashed all summer and will remain a point of contention until a statement from the hilltop about this is released. I'm also surprised that the PJS has not piped in!"Educate and inform the whole mass of the people...they are the only sure reliance for the preservation of our liberty."

Scheduling and the AD
Jeffsu---To answer your question, here are a few "detrimental effects" that have happened over the Summer IMO that you may have overlooked or been unaware of:
1. Aside from a very possible weak home schedule, the schedule is late being announced. This can cause problems for fans who are planning travel, community events, organizational events, social events, etc.
2. The Braves Club Past Presidents dinner which has been held for many years each June was cancelled this year without any notice whatsoever.
3. No Red & White game. Perhaps due to facility problems---Perhaps not. If we really wanted this game, I believe some viable location could have been found.
4. Two great pre-season events, the BU auction and the pre-season banquet, have now been combined into one event effectively cancelling one of the events. While the hype surrounding this event is big, in reality we have lost one pre-season event.
Take your head out of the sand---We need a full-time, qualified AD and we need one soon! Again, lets hope we get someone before the season begins and we have more "detrimental effects".
