  • Bradley vs. XV de Piracicaba- Saturday, 3:30 PM CDT

Bradley will play their final game of the Brazil trip today (8/15) at 3:30 Peoria time (CDT).
This game is for 3rd place overall in the Copa EPTV de Basquet tournament.
Bradley (from group 1) is 2-1 after their disappointing loss last night to Paulistano, and XV Piracicaba (from group 2) is also 2-1.

XV de Piracicaba have been the surprise team of the tournament. They play in a lower level pro league, yet they have been very competetive with higher ranked teams.

Eddren McCain was reported to have sustained an injury to the small finger on his right hand. He will likely play with the finger taped, but Will Egolf will not be available to play today.

In the first game today, Assis defeated Bauru 101-89 for 5th place.

The 3rd place Bradley-XV de Piracicaba just started.

How come we never get a halftime score? I would think they would have some sort of media connection to send scores via the internet.

These games are not being covered by any broadcast or real-time media. The only way it could happen is if someone at the game posted a halftime score to someplace like Twitter via cellphone. The gymnasium does not have any direct internet service. Bobby Parker has had to leave after each game and go to a local TV station to get an internet connection to file his postgame reports.

By the way- fans who have appreciated Bobby's reports and blogs, be sure to tell him thanks when you can!

Yes, they do and I just got done talking with a guy who is a Cat career guy who has been to the plant in Piracicaba many times, and he was intrigued when I showed him the jersey with the Cat logo.
He said this area of Brazil is actually thriving economically for a number of reasons...
big manufacturing in industries that have not seen much setback, a ready labor force that doesn't organize and ask a ton, lots of natural resources and they are exporters of many items that are plentiful there.
